Quoted from Shoot_Again:Never really looked at ESB closely. It is just a wide body firepower?
Ohh no it’s much less exciting than Firepower! No offence to Hankin either because they were pioneering pinball down under and produced some of the most beautiful cabinets and playfield artwork ever. FJ Holden, Shark, Orbit 1 to name a few more (you guys wouldn’t get Howzat... it’s about a cricketing legend)
It’s more on par with Bally Space Invaders, play wise.
But game play aside... it is some of the sweetest eye candy one can behold, particularly if you’re an SW geek, you’d loose your $h!t if you saw it IRL
Rumour has it was that the licensing fee was one finished ESB pin to be given to Lucus and they weren’t that worried about any revenue or royalties because it was a novelty idea to promote the film and was only for commercial use. Gosh not much info about this on Pinside either
Quoted from sixtyfourbits:Not everyone likes it, but personally I really enjoyed Cybernaut while I owned one. The only reason I sold it was to raise funds for another purchase. It's really the only game on my sold list that I would buy again if given a good chance to. Its also the only pin my wife was sad to see leave. Its fun to play and the artwork is awesome. They do come around once in a while, so I hope you are able to eventually grab one.
I can’t agree more. Have had one for 5 years and can’t see it leaving anytime soon. Theme, sounds, artwork, fun factor. Ticks allot of boxes!
My favourite part is when the last ball drains and there is closing sound effect that resembles riding an escalator on Saturn... or something nerdy like that
