Here are 2 pictures of my metal flap.
Laying on the table it looks fine.

But if you look at it from a different angle you can see the crack that developed at the base by the screw holes.

That piece of foam is hiding the possible problem area from view. You need to take some things apart so you can see if you have any cracks in the metal. You may be able to press on the flap and "feel" if anything is wrong, but I'm thinking you are going to have to remove the ramp, do some disassembly to have a closer look.
The flap is designed to kick the ball into that saucer. If the ball is not getting kicked into the saucer I don't know what else your problem could be.
The ramp is not hard to remove as it is attached with only 3 screws but the wire harness is a PIA unless you add a Molex connector as I did. If you don't want to add a Molex you will have to lift the play field and disconnect the factory plug in.
