ROBO WAR PST (resized).jpg

#1 10 months ago

I had some fun giving my robo-war a make over and wanted to share my ideas and results with anyone interested. I wont get into great detail but rather just list what I did post some pics.
1. Added a little sex ppeal with an alternate translite
2. Gave it some xenon zing with a clear tube replacing the wire-from crossover ramp.
3. Switched my pop bodies to red and gave them frosted domes with blue lights to match the tripod robos.
4. Put bullseye drop targets in. Black in alpha quadrant and red in the beta.
5. in the 1x . . . I put red and blue (in the same insert) alternating each one. Also alternated red and blue LEDs in the rear flasher bar.
Here's some pics!

Pop bumps matching the walker robos is a great idea.
Very nice job!

Love it!!!! This is one of my favorite pins of all time and it is so underrated. You added a little creativity and some nods to the past while keeping everything tasteful. Well done!!! This is incredible!!

Where did you get the pop bumper cabs? I like it. Thinking of doing it to mine.

Kind of remind me of egg capsules from the gumball machines

That's exactly what they are. From a Walmart entrance vending machine.

Looks great!! I just found my copy of the game in a woman’s basement. Ordered a NOS translight and plastic set. Yours is motivating me to get my restoration underway this weekend!

Wow what a great find. It took me over a year to hunt one down. I'm embarrassed at what I underpaid for it as someone reached out to me via pinside and my WTB ad. The seller flew every red flag you can imagine, new account, no posts, but after talking on the phone I rolled the dice and in the end scored a big win.

Sometimes you have to! I vastly underpaid for mine as well. The game was her husband’s, and after he passed away, she was moving and needed it gone as soon as possible. She figured the amount of money she would pay movers to move it wouldn’t make it worth it.

I love the game though, and it’ll be given a very good home here. I’d love to hunt down a TX-Sector to place next to it, though I enjoy the gameplay of Robo-War more.
