I read about the sound issues others had with the System 80B. I know you have to set switch 7 to on to enable toe attract mode sound. I however set it to on and still have no sound. The other sound during gameplay work fine. Maybe I am setting the wrong switch as all are labled 1 to 8....

Does anyone have an idea where I could start trouble shooting?

I had the exact same issue. For me, it was controlled with switch 8, even though the manual says switch 7. Try that out and let me know.

That worked! I have sound now! So I guess it's switch 8 for most Robo Wars. Thanks for your help!

Great. For me, it was the reverse problem. I have Robo-War in my office and was annoyed by the constant attract sound. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to turn it off! On a whim one day I tried switch 8 and that fixed it.
