I already ordered a quiet fan kit for it. I had never really heard the fan in my buddie's garage playing before. But as soon as I turned it on in my room it was the first thing I heard.
Quoted from emkay:My hearing is terrible (too many Rob Zombie shows!) but my wife’s is not. I’ve never noticed the fan noise, where do I get the quiet fan kit?
You'll find it right here
Just got done with a topside tear down, deep clean, wax, Titans, etc. Also added some led strip lighting on the rails and in front of apron. Wow. What an improvement over stock.
Also, a shout out to Matt at M & M Creations (@Sonic) for building a Magnetic Reed Switch to replace the upper playfield switch that gets wacked by the ball shooting the right inner orbit shot. The switch fits perfect and works awesome.

Installed it in the other switch location on the upper playfield. Now both switches match. Both are now Magnetic Reed Switches and there's no chance that either will get smashed on the underside of the playfield from a ball going through the inner orbit shot.

Both switches do not need to be replaced. It is only the switch looking from the top of the playfield on the right hand side that gets hit by the ball. The switch to the right of the gas pump. I replaced both switches just so that they would match.
Quoted from punkin:Thank you mate. We have a couple on the way to the land of vegemite, glad i can leave one for someone else.
The switches works awesome. No more trough issues because of this switch. Reach out to Matt and Dan, they will hook you up.
Finished downloading and updated code to V26. Definately some new callouts, but haven't played enough to notice any other differences.
Quoted from punkin:Too scared to have a go at the playfield removal to put mine in yet.
Its not that bad to do. Remove the upper flipper bat and "washer", unplug a few connectors under the playfield, and remove two screws. Lift off the playfield and swap out the old switch with the MRS.
Not sure where to go with this. I was playing RZ last night and I had a great game, put up my all time high at 46M. But then I had several other "great" games and realized that I was scoring too many points for a normal game. I have gone through the menu and I don't have any stuck switches, and none of my settings have changed. It almost seems like a multiplier has been turned on out of the blue. The only thing that seems to be a bit odd, it that the skull face that comes on the DMD seems like it is active more often. I have started a game and manually activated switches but don't find any that seem to add abnormal amount of points. Am I crazy or has anyone else heard of anything like this. I have not become a stellar player just by playing a few games.
Quoted from rotordave:Take it.
You’ve probably got a playfield switch triggering somewhere.
Start a game, then use your fist to whack on the playfield, go all around the circumference and see if any switch triggers the score.
rd
I tried that quickly last night. Hitting right in the center of the playfield I have something registering some points although not crazy amounts. I will drlve into it deeper on a switch by switch basis underneath the playfield when I have some time. Sometimes you miss the most basic direction to look at. Thank you
Quoted from punkin:Both my RZ and Alice are quirky as fuck. Alice has a ball missing at the moment that i haven't looked for yet (common with mine) and Rob Zombie is forever losing track of balls or getting them stuck up the loop.
I can't put either of them in comp because you can never get 4 straight games in a row.
:Love them dearly for all that.
Do the MRS mod from M&M Creations. That will take care of the RZ ball stuck in the loop.
I replaced the switch #1 at the end of the trough with a new one (I think I purchased one at Pinball Life that looked right). The one that was in it was bent up pretty good and had been messed with. Haven't had any issues since I replaced the switch.

That 7 ball multiball is the best multi i have ever played. better than GnR, better than the 6 ball one on AE.
That it happens on the fastest controllable machine i can play, where every rubber is a sling, it's incredible.
Just love this machine so much, thanks again to the guys for the RMS switch, absolute game changer.
I've played quite a few games on Zombie this past week. I finally realized locking 3 balls gets me to 7 ball multiball and house of a 1000 corpses. I've beat 1000 corpses twice now in the last several days. My best to date 36 million my 2nd best 34M. I've got a new love for this game.
Quoted from punkin:Yep, but yesterday.....
'Missing balls'
Fuck.
Trough issues probably. Check that damn switch at the end.
My Rob Zombie has been in the freeplay area at Pintastic for a full day so far and has had a crazy amount of traffic on it. The two MRS switches on the upper playfield as well as the zombie ramp switch I modified to fit from a Shadow switch have worked flawlessly and have never missed a switch hit. A shout out to Matt at M & M Creations for his products.
