Baiter - Spooky has already explained in the thread why they are limiting to 300 and then it has been reiterated by others throughout the thread. Have you read the whole thread? Time on the license is limited and the clock is already clicking.

#552 8 years ago

I assume they know better than anyone what their capacity to produce is.

They alone cannot chose to extend license. RZ would also have to agree to extend the license. We can sit here and speculate what deal was negotiated but we have no idea. Maybe RZ said 3 years and that's it.....no extension. who knows I just know I am looking forward to watching the growth and success of their company. Good people and this hobby really needed something like this.

Good luck Spooky Pinball!!

I don't really see what the problem is if Spooky produces more than 300 units and I am not really sure why it is bothering some? The pricing on the product is in line and competitive. It's not like Spooky is asking $16k for a limited run machine than raising the production numbers. They are asking $6k for a limited run machine, which people regularly hand over to Stern for an incomplete game that they will produce as many units as they like and will also re-run again and again. In short, at $6k you are just buying a standard pin if you want the limited edition go give Stern $9k to $10k for one.

I think Jack Danger will be filming in Benton soon......per Spooky Facebook.

Quoted from dirtbag66:

How much does this machine cost? With all the talk about the artwork, I just feel like people are forgetting they are buying a pinball machine, not a piece of art.

The thing is, it is a piece of art. I all the time hear the chatter about this art topic, but from everything I read in this thread, as well as many others, most folks put a lot of weight into the art. I think the machine looks great. I for one am looking forward to the unique layout, as well as a road trip to the Spooky factory from Florida when mine is ready.

#2288 8 years ago
Quoted from musketd:

his game looks epic and my wife and I are true zombie fans since way back in the day before when white zombie kicked ass

This sums up everything. 300 being made which fits perfect with the niche pin it is. If you're on the fence then you probably don't have the deep connection like myself and the quote above. If you have to anguish so muck over it than I would say it may not be your thing. Let it go to someone in line with the connection.

You are kind of either in or out - gut feeling leap of faith. This just isn't a standard mull-it-around situation.
What? Why?
Good lord, this forum. Sometimes it's easy to forget we're talking about game pins here at all, and not collectors pins (and I mean the kind you pin onto your jacket). I don't spend $6,000 on instant gut leaps of faith, that's ridiculous. I care what my games look like, and I buy them to play, not just to stare at.

Totally understand, but at what point are you struggling with a personal decision out loud??? That is why you get this reaction. Don't be shocked. I understand all your mental battles on whether to buy or not, but I don't see the relevance it has to me or the next guy on this thread. I know there are several others with the same battle., but at what point should this discussion go to the basement???

#2345 8 years ago

Thank you Marcus. I didn't realize the basement was a negative thing?? Thanks for the clarification.

#2487 8 years ago
Quoted from dirtbag66:

It matters because people are paying $6k (plus tax and possiby shipping if you don't live in the Midwest and are willing to go pick it up) for what is essentially a piece of art. Call me crazy, but if I'm going to lay down that kind of coin for a pinball machine, I expect to get a pinball machine!

Whether it is a complete game or not is subjective. Also another nice thing here is if you don't like you don't have to spend that $6k so your comment and rational makes very little sense to me? Save your money and buy your complete game. You should start another thread maybe to discuss what you would do to make it better. I am sure plenty would love to participate.

#2817 8 years ago

Cool feature you can just ignore dirtbag. I have seen nothing constructive from this person.

#2953 8 years ago

Can you put the code in for a spinner and then we can install one ourselves??

#2982 8 years ago
Quoted from SpookyCharlie:

Well glad to see people thinking rules and not ripping each other anyway! Spinners will be coming in future games... just not an option right now. Trust me, we tried. Someone mentioned drop targets on the upper playfield.. there are 3 lanes under the upper playfield, no where for the mechs to go. It's more fun and tougher than it looks. Is what it is, and I hope you like it.
Someone else mentioned "even Rob says there's nothing in this game"... ummm sorry, but he was referring to the blank whitewood he was looking at, and nothing else.
Corpses will have a few options... stealing them from other players, instant multipliers in single player games, or bonus multipliers to help get to 1,000 quicker. Bonus jackpot will by X the number of balls left when you hit 1,000... we'll mess with it, and get it right. On a single good ball, I can rack up 400 or more pretty quick as it is. It needs to be a hard event to gather, but yeah... certainly don't want it to be impossible.
And yes, spotlights will be added to the game. It needs them!
Back to work... cleaning out the 8 billion things piled up in the hall so we can roll out 11 more AMH's this week, and get a clear path to move the whole shop across the parking lot in a few more weeks.

Okay, okay.......like who do you think you are. Why don't you just let The designer and manufacturer take care of the game. If you were so smart and wanted to take the gamble of quitting your day job and putting everything on the line to start a pinball manufacturing company of your own, announce a unique pin, with awesome theme, with awesome art, actually acknowledge the outcry from the community to film an impromptu video, allow your programmer to interact with with the community, respond to the community about their out cry's, have an excellent sales group (KT) who has answered all ridiculous emails sent in regards to the sales of this machine, offer the machine at a very competitive rate and have a trail of absolutely outstanding great customer service reviews on a previous game you released...than why don't you go ahead and do it!........ Sorry I figured I would let the ripping start back up. We can't wait for our game

#3536 8 years ago

Special thanks to you guys and gals for the pics and reviews of the game. I was also glad to hear that there will be an option to purchase the LE back glass art in a translite. It's great that Spooky and Fawzma are taking input from the community, really makes you feel like you have something in the game personally. I can not wait to make my road trip to Benton from Florida to pick mine up. Hopefully it won't be in the middle of a blizzard! #141.

#3700 8 years ago

Just wondering if anyone knows how numbers are being issued? Seems right after the initial decision period there were people posting spots/numbers much higher than people just now getting their numbers?

#4033 8 years ago
Quoted from MikeS:

Also, Fawzma I want to thank you for all the hard work you've put into the game! I really like where you're going with it!

FawzmaGames, I also want to say thanks to you and also thanks to everyone providing great input. For lack of a better term " the perfect storm". small number of buyers, probably many on this thread and a programmer that is actively taking input and giving feedback while game is being programmed.
As a buyer I think it's FUCKING GREAT!! However, as a shitty player I have very little input on the food and the bad, but with all the great people giving great ideas and input I know I'm in good hands! #141 in FLA and I plan on driving to Benton and picking mine up. I just wonder what month it will be????

Quoted from emkay:

Oh man, that show looks badass. We have tickets to see him on the 22nd and Kayte told me over the phone today that my translite was going in the mail so I'm getting ready to strap on my groupie kneepads and get this fucker signed.

Is this an additional translite? Can you purchase additional?

#4849 7 years ago

Thanks. I am definitely getting one of each. I thought the standard came with a translite. I was just informed it is a backglass as well. Nice surprise for me.

#4851 7 years ago

I always heard the same and yes Kayte via email.

#4870 7 years ago

I also was under the impression the standard would have a translite until I emailed Kayte today about buying the LE translite. That's when she told me if I wanted to use the LE translite in the Standard I would have to buy the glass for it.

The more I think about though I can't recall Spooky ever saying that. It may have grown from the following misinterpreted quote by Charlie. I found this under the Tob Zombie Standard for LE trade thread, post #19.

"The LE's will have a printed backglass, different armor & powdercoat, and numbered plaques. Translites may be available at a later date pending approvals. WE WILL NOT sell LE backglasses or armor."

Sorry I can't figure out how to link to it on my phone.

#4874 7 years ago
Quoted from Betelgeuse:

Really? Why can't we know exactly what is being included with each version? I don't think that's too much to ask and apparently I'm not the only one who misunderstood. Every time there's a freakin' question on here it's 'whining'. Gimme a break.

I think the difference is there will only be 50 LE back glasses. That's it no more. Standards will be at least 250 and they may sell additional ones as well? I don't know fornsure, but Spooky has not said they wouldn't sell additional Stndard back glasses like they did say for the LE. So if you have an LE you will have one of only 50 back glasses ever made.

I know I'm behind the curve, but 141 landed in Lutz Florida on Thursday (11/10). It's still in box on pallet. Was at Freeplay Florida all weekend and then out of town for work. I did crack it open and it seems R&L got it delivered with no damage.

#6674 7 years ago

Finally just got mine set up and I'm sure it's been covered.......what is the best setting for the LCD screen? The only settings I can find are pixelated? Thanks.

#6678 7 years ago

I would agree, scoring in general is absent. I have had the game set up for two days and have a hard time knowing how much things are worth? Does any scoring show? I know the total score shows but when i hit jackpot or super jackpot I get the audio acknowledgement and it acknowledges on screen but not how much was scored??

#6696 7 years ago

Is it possible to not lose your progress on the drop target? It can be frustrating that you hit the target and drop it and then if a mode is started or add a ball is started, when you complete either the target is back up? I am not sure why you should get punished for either.

Also is it a know bug that the mpu hangs when exiting the menu? Mine seems to do it 80% of the time to where I have to power off to recover.

Not sure exactly what you describe but here is what I noticed on mine last night. Start a game and play a ball. If I open the coin door after the ball drains and before the next ball is loaded into the shooter lane I get a message that the door is open (not there right now so not exactly sure of what the message states) the machine just stays stuck on this message. Close the door, hit start button.........nothing brings you back into game. I have to power off and power back on.

Received my blades from pinball side mirrors. I notice they do not fully cover due to stepped cut out in back. Is this what others have as well? Trying to see if I did not get correct ones. Have not heard back from PSM yet. Here's pic.

IMG_9555 (resized).JPGIMG_9555 (resized).JPG

#7302 7 years ago
Quoted from Dutts:

That's not too bad. I bought the official pinblades and believe me they are far from custom fit. At least mine could be trimmed somewhat I suppose. I wanted to get the mirror blades but after sending 4 emails regarding international shipping with no reply.

Thanks for the response. I guess they are not cutting custom RZ blades and must be using something close. Their responsiveness definitely lacks if non existent.

#7335 7 years ago

We have played well over 1000 games on mine (#141) and for what it's worth, I can only remember maybe 2 or 3 times the ball has ever got stuck in the corpses lock orbit. When it did i don't remember much more than a nudge to get it free.

I apologize if Fawzma has ever answered this, I know it's been asked several times, will the corpses drop target progression continue to reset after LDG? Might be a nice option in settings if possible. My wife loves the game and that is because how you start the add a balls in for LDG, however she has never gotten close to Corpses. I think the drop not resetting could help to allow some of us, by choice, more easily get there. Lock should go out during LDG, just after return drop to position it was.

Another one is the ability to restart a game before Ball 3 drains?? Not sure why this would not be a function?

#7338 7 years ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

Because it's cheating? Haha. I don't see the need for it. I've turned it off on all my games that have it. The worst thing in the world is a game restarting because of the start button being pressed during a competition or an amazing game.

The option would be nice.

#7340 7 years ago
Quoted from paulywalnuts23:

Play all balls like they were your last, never give up on a game. Some of my best games have been when ball one drained quick.

I do appreciate the motivation, but why not a feature? It's not like it allows you to pad a score? Also would be nice when a youngster starts a 4 player game.

Quoted from parabol420:

1. If a ball gets hung up trying to launch out of the trough into the shooter lane, the entire game goes dead and the screen tells the user to have the operator check the lane switch. This has become very annoying when in a multiball, it kills the entire game, and does that. Seems like a rough way to handle a simple stuck ball. Any thoughts on changing this

I had this happen a couple times. On mine it was the shooter switch getting hung up. The ball was in the the lane but the switch wouldn't know it. I adjusted it and hadn't had the problem since. As for why the game doesn't check for it I don't know?

Where do we buy apron mod?

#8573 6 years ago

All I can say is....if you're are into pinball for an investment that's not good. Go visit a financial advisor and let him make you some money. RZ, imho is a great game in that it allows the not very experienced player have fun. Easy to start Add A Ball. For tournament play....maybe not, but most of my friends are not pin heads and they dig it.

Let's see the new code Fawzma!!

#8574 6 years ago

And in addition to speculate the pinball market good luck! I bought a minty Baywatch, 18 months ago for $1000.

#8730 6 years ago

Been gone and just now loaded V20. Played two games and just sound alone much improved. LDG much better now. An extended black screen after first super jackpot. Anyone else have that??
In past codes hold left flipper and start button during start was adult mode. Has this changed?
#142 here feels like he had a new game

#9068 6 years ago
Quoted from SilverballNut:

Ok. I'm either seeing a bug or have something odd going on. Sometimes when playing, the lock lights and cross lights just go dark. Then it seems like a mode changes and they start working again.

Happens to me too.

#9093 6 years ago

Had this issue. Start LDG with drop target up. Knock down drop target during LDG. Drain out of LDG and drop never returns up and can never lock ball for H1K no matter how many times I hit the lock shot. I would guess I looped it through at least 10 times with no lock??

#9097 6 years ago

I will however will say I can not emulate it with glass off last 15 minutes. I have noticed it twice during game play?
I will say that I Love the Update Fawzma.
