Alright everyone- I understand this is the game that is meant to kick my ass and eat my lunch, but I’m trying to make it as friendly as possible for friends and family to come over and play. (They’re fine with the content- just trying to make the game a little more kind to those who don’t have hundreds of hours of pinball experience.)

I’ve read through every post on this forum topic and took notes- but for the sake of consensus opinion, I’d like to ask- what did you do to make it more friendly?

Pitch/Level?
Flipper Power Settings?
Slingshots Power Settings?
Pop Bumper Power Settings?
Different Rubbers that aren’t so lively?
Anything else you did to make it more kind?

Is there a flipper bushings issue that a change would help with like Alice Cooper or Rick and Morty?

Also curious about pixels- round dots, squares or high-def?

Sincere thanks for the help.

The game is punishing no matter what you change all those settings to

Pixels are just a personal preference, take a look at each setting and decide what you think looks best. I think I preferred squares when I had RZ.

I've always found non pinball people to really love Rob Zombie. They always have as a favourite game Deadpool, Rob Zombie or Indiana Jones.

I missed this question. The answer is no.

Have a chance to get a RZ, they say it has some mods. What are the desirable ones that aren't made anymore?

Quoted from manadams:

All the Medisinyl mods, gas pumps, living dead girl, pussy liquor sign, murder ride sign. You can see them in the attached pic of my RZ.

all those are mandatory plus the shooter lane backstop mod (keeps your balls in play and out of the cabinet). Medisinyl needs his name added to the playfield for outstanding contributions.

Thank you both

The full set is shown here. The Spine mod is the rarest as it was discontinued earlier on (before the enhanced demand after the Elvira set came out). A couple different lighting versions exist. White to red was ultimately my preference, but some went out as solid red (lights up and fades as the ball passes through).

All remaining RZ mods were discontinued a year ago or earlier, but the ball stop still remains available to download for free on my Thingiverse (under Medisinyl).

Having a couple cocktails tonight and turned on RZ and ACNC.
Anymore these are some of my favorite game to play. Just gritty and hard as balls, yet rewarding as hell.

What RZ code are you running? I don't remember the SFGE splash screen on the latest code but it's been a while.

Any interest in selling just the two instruction cards? I’d take both of those.

#10965 1 year ago

I'd like to keep them complete with the apron. They are just printed at home on glossy photo paper. Let me check my files, I may still have it saved somewhere and I can email it to you.

Edit - Found it: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/rob-zombies-spook-show-international/page/132#post-3441723

Pretty cool, was the metal apron for the discontinued pinball mayhem apron lcd mod? How much are you looking to get for the set ?

Thanks!

My right flipper intermittently just stops working while your playing then will work again. Obviously its not the coil, i dont think its the switch near the button. Any other ideas?

My co-worker had the exact same issue. The connector needed to be re-pinned and he has had no issues since.

connector to where? Should i unseat all the backbox connectors and reseat them?

#10973 1 year ago

I believe they followed the wires from the flippers to the board. I think, I could be wrong, it was under the playfield. I wasn't the one that did the re-pinning.

I dont believe there are any pins on the bottom. The flipper seems to be a purple wire that goes right to the backbox

#10975 1 year ago

Here's some more info on this problem

Right flipper intermittently working/not working is the issue

1. If i go to switch test the button seems to be working fine

2. If i start to play and the right flipper stops working and I open the door and press the white voltage interlock switch that the door hits when it closes and hit the right flipper it works fine. If i then close the door only the left flipper works and the right flipper still doesnt work. I find this behavior pretty weird

Any ideas? Thanks

Happy temporary host of an RZ here…I did a temp trade for STH. One question, I can’t make out what they’re saying that sounds like “move your car”…is it “suck your cock”? “Fuck your car”?

#10977 10 months ago

Anyone have RZ parts? Need the pieces the the cpu are mounted to. Sheet metal fire protection parts. Sent my cpu to Spooky with those pieces still attached and they lost those. Been waiting a long time for a replacement, thought I'd reach out.
thx

I think these would be very hard to find if not impossible. It's not a part that would typically get removed, upgraded, or a spare ordered. After it was lost did they just say sorry you're SOL?

They said they are making them? So far it's been 3+ weeks. Communication has been pretty bad. Just thought I'd ask the community.

So RZ arrived today!!

Translate and speaker plate came loose during shipping. The ‘hooks’ that hold the speaker plate on are a little bent but I think it will be just fine. Translate is fine (thank god) but the trim molding was loose. Can anyone take a picture of what yours looks like so I know how to put this stupid bottom plastic molding piece back on. Maybe I’m just tired tonight but I swear I can’t figure it out.

Only ‘issue’ I’ve noticed playing so far is the ball launch to the upper gas/chicken playfield takes 1-2 tries every time. Is that common or something I should look into?

Thanks in advance!!

There is a small ramp before the VUK so you need a solid shot to get to the upper playfield. Also check the switch on the VUK to be sure it’s registering correctly. I’ve had to adjust mine a few times.

#10988 10 months ago

Just put in some precision pinball flippers and bushings. I was worried that they might be a bit too fast but they actually play really nice. I love that they can be dialed in topside.

RZ is one of those games that I won’t touch for months then it’s all I’ll play for a while. This game fits in really nicely to a lineup with longer ball times.

Haven't put precisions on mine yet, but they'll be in the next order.

#10990 10 months ago

Quick question to make sure I’m not losing my mind, how many balls should be in the machine?

#10991 10 months ago

Under the lockdown bar mate.

#10992 10 months ago
Quoted from punkin:

Under the lockdown bar mate.

Hahahaha ya. Just saw that as I said ‘fuck it, I’m pretty sure 7 is the right number’ and then saw it as I put the bar back down.

My sister was playing and swore she lost a ball somewhere and it never came down. Pulled out 7 and lifted the playfield and she was adamant it was stuck.

Love pinball.

#10993 10 months ago

Usually won't start a game if one is stuck.

#10994 10 months ago

Pull the playfield up and back and rest it on the lockbar receiver. Look behind the upper playfield from the left side of the machine. On mine the ball guide on the lane feeding the vuk was pulled away from the backboard and partially blocking the vuk causing rejects when the ball tried to kick up to the upper playfield. Without pulling anything apart I used some thin 2sided mounting tape to re attach the ball guide so the ball sits in the vuk hole centered, this fixed my reject problem.

Sometimes the trough switches on mine gets off kilter and I have to adjust it.

What is the deal with the pussy liquors mode? I says to hit the lit shots but sometimes there is no lit shot on the playfield during the mode. Edit: had a bulb out causing the issue.

Any tips on slowing down the ball coming out of the upper playfield VUK? Have lowered the coil power down as much as I can and it still bounces hard enough to go right past the flipper.

#11000 10 months ago

Not a fan of the pin stadium lights but does anyone have them, or something else to brighten up the playfield and do you like it? If just feels too dark.
