Had Rob Zombie up the front getting play for more than a week now. Just had an amazing game, eclipsed my score of nearly 8 and got past 18m.

That 7 ball multiball is the best multi i have ever played. better than GnR, better than the 6 ball one on AE.

That it happens on the fastest controllable machine i can play, where every rubber is a sling, it's incredible.

Just love this machine so much, thanks again to the guys for the RMS switch, absolute game changer.

I've played quite a few games on Zombie this past week. I finally realized locking 3 balls gets me to 7 ball multiball and house of a 1000 corpses. I've beat 1000 corpses twice now in the last several days. My best to date 36 million my 2nd best 34M. I've got a new love for this game.

Me too. I needed 5 more mill to get on the table with people i've never met but should never expect to win against.
(previous table before i bought it).

But what a game!

I'm going to find a rulesheet and learn some of the rules. Looks like something attainable and it really nests into my play style (reflex, hit and nudge).

It went from 'that thing down the back that's always broken' to top 5 this last week. Thanks to the ball stick probs being solved.

Alice is still down the back broken.

+1

The MRS switches were a significant reliability boost for my game as well. First time I've felt confident all of my shots will always register game to game, regardless of ball speed, and that the upper playfield switch won't cause gremlins.

Yep, but yesterday.....

Fuck.

Quoted from snakesnsparklers:

I didn't need to. I had RGB speaker lights, Pinball Refinery UV GI light strips, LED OCD, apron screen, and a couple extra lit toy mods and no issues. Not sure how much current the Pinstadiums draw. I also did the silent PS fan mod.

snakesnsparklers Do you have a reference for a silent PS fan mod ?

Did someone add an extra volume control near the Coindoor to the LP-168 Amplifier ?

Thanks!

The stock fan is a 60x60x25mm, I replaced it with a Vantec SF6025L 60mm Stealth Case Fan. If I remember correctly I had to re-use the old fan connector, and swapped it over to the new fan. Even having to do that, it's a fairly easy mod and it fits just like the stock fan.

Looking to put a shaker in my RZ. I don't see it available at PBL any longer.... What do I need to get?

(Actually I am not sure that matches RZ. Be sure to talk to somebody at PBL)

#10912 1 year ago

RZ runs on the PinHeck board, not P-Roc. I don’t see the RZ compatible shaker that they used to sell. Email PBL as suggested. Let us know what you hear.

Heard back from Terry. It is "no longer available".
Got some nice shaker pictures from a fellow RZ owner (thanks Erik!). Looks like it shouldn't be hard to adapt a standard Stern shaker. I can post details when I'm done, if anyone is interested.

I replaced the fan with one I had but it seems to make some noise in general, I don't know if there is much change with this Vantec SF6025L 60mm Stealth Case Fan? Is it absolutely silent or do you hear the fan?

I also replaced the servo of the robot because it was not working anymore, I used a new FS90MG servo with the metal gear, more robust than the plastic one.
but I have the impression that it turns faster and that when the robot goes back to the left it stops and shakes, it's quite curious but a bit crazy

#10915 1 year ago

do you know how to light the robot's eyes in green?

I could still hear the fan but it was MUCH quieter than the stock fan.

#10917 1 year ago

i think the best fan is HA60251V4 SUNON only 10.7dB ,
The Vantec SF6025L is 20dB and the original fan in Rob Zombie is 34.5dB (KD1206PTB1 SUNON)

It can be used also in other spooky pinballs

So my RZ is kicking balls into the shooter lane one after another. I put in new balls because I saw the earlier discussion on magnetized balls. That didn’t do the trick. I did a switch test and neither the shooter lane switch or the right outlane switch register on the switch matrix. I looked under the play field for loose wires and anything obvious and didn’t see anything. I believe those two switches are connected by a common ground wire.

With that being said, anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

It is possible the switches are bad if you've ruled out any wiring issues.

Could be. I just think it’s odd that both switches failed at the same time. I was sure it was an issue with a loose wire but I’m just not seeing it.

I agree it's a little odd, but not completely impossible. There was a bad batch of switches during the RZ build process, and I am wondering if some "intermittently working" switches made it into games where they worked initially, or worked sporadically and may completely fail.

My Rob Zombie has been in the freeplay area at Pintastic for a full day so far and has had a crazy amount of traffic on it. The two MRS switches on the upper playfield as well as the zombie ramp switch I modified to fit from a Shadow switch have worked flawlessly and have never missed a switch hit. A shout out to Matt at M & M Creations for his products.

I just picked up a RZssi and had a couple questions.

I would like to add a shaker and I know that they are no longer available for this system is there a retrofit?

How do I know what number game I have, is it the last 3 numbers of the serials number?

Check w/Spooky. Pinballlife used to sell an RZ-specific shaker but it's no longer available.

Yes

Sold my RZ last year and regretted it.

I picked up an RZ LE last week. Tried to update the code. Now the display doesn't work. Anyone have a fix for this?

That's odd. I never had any display issues from doing an update. Make sure all of your display cables are seated tight, and if you are still having issues contact Spooky.

#10928 1 year ago

Hello fellow RZ fans… Scott Danesi told me to try posting here. I’m looking to see if anyone can help me with a harness or shaker motor to install in this game. Pinball Life has stopped making the kit for this machine. Any help would be appreciated and I can pay someone for their time if they can make one for me. Thanks

I got it updated. Used a new SD card and removed the .txt file and everything works now.

To shed some light on this. The only thing you will have to fabricate is the harness that goes from the Pinheck board and power supply, to the interface board. The rest of the kit is the same as the Spooky P-ROC shaker motor.

Can anyone here that has a lighted RZ Lockdown bar upload a picture of the underside of it showing all components to the lighting system and if the wiring goes to the backbox with a RGB splitter board to have the colors change with the machine?

Thanks!

#10932 1 year ago

Is RZ a P-ROC system?

#10933 1 year ago

No, it is a PinHeck system.

#10934 1 year ago

I swapped out a bad servo for the robot today. One of the screws connecting the servo to the robot base was stripped from the factory.

Ok, thank you..

Where can I get a shaker motor for RZ? Spooky and pinball life don't carry them.

I’ve been playing some RZ today and have noticed that on completion of the skill shot it is awarding a million points, but it is not lighting the extra ball target. Is this a change with the v26 update? The callout still mentions an extra ball.

I'm looking for the "replay" options in the service menu but I can't seem to find them. According to the update notes there should be options for replay value increase and decrease, etc. Can anyone please explain how to access those options? I'm unfamiliar with Spooky service menus as compared to others.

Never mind, I found the option, but the problem seems to be that it's periodically resetting itself. I suppose it could be a battery problem. I'll see if it happens again.

Bumping thread to see if anyone has a Medisinyl spine mod they want to sell that they’re looking to get rid of and also looking for the Chicken and gas lamp sign from outcida - anyone looking to sell?

Thanks in advance!

I also swapped a defective servo, the original gears are plastic, I bought some Micro Servo 9G FS90MG in metal (gears) from Aliexpress.
It is strange that after the replacement, the robot works but does not stop shaking when pivoting.
any feedback are welcome

Just installed the quiet fan into Rob Zombie and I don’t know why I waited so long. Highly suggest this upgrade if your game is at home.

I updated mine from v24 to v26 and mine gets stuck on certain screens sometimes. I also get a fuzz/crackle during certain callouts (but not from music) that was present before i updated.

Anyone have an LE back glass they’re looking to sell?

#10945 1 year ago
Quoted from TheCreature:

Anyone have an LE back glass they’re looking to sell?

Spooky did sell LE translites upon request, it's worth a shot to ask them, maybe they would still sell one? The actual LE backglass only came with the LE games so it will probably be very hard to find someone willing to sell theirs. I have an LE translite in a lit up backbox wall hanger.

#10946 1 year ago

Call spooky and talk to Morgan. When I was looking to buy an RZ I wasn't sure I could find an LE and liked it's back glass better. I was able to buy a LE back glass from them. I ended up getting an LE machine and now have a spare brand new in the box.

Never heard of a company doing that before.

Not sure if i'd be happy at all if i paid for an LE.

Damn right it's a better backglass though, never seen one before.

Only you can't see the titties, so points off for that. (i have the same pair of machines ..not le though)

Wouldn’t surprise me if Charlie sold his personal LE back glass. Spooky is always going above and beyond for customers.

Didn't spot that. The titties are still in the game (war cry round here is 'Get the titties!).

No harm there. Now i really want one.
