Does anyone have a direct comparison of the jaw gears (03-8471). The ones from Marco and Pinball life are the very least different colors. Is the Marco one better enough to warrant double the price??

https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/03-8471
https://www.pinballlife.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=03-8471

I did search the thread, but I didn't see anyone compare the two directly.

Does anyone have pictures of ramp-o-matic's clear ramps installed? debating between clear and yellow.

https://rampomatic.com/collections/bally-williams-ramps/products/williams-road-show-right-ramp-03-9127

jazc4 I'd be interested in some pictures of your ramps.

Rebuilding the heads and Red is missing the tip on her ball-popper. Does anyone know the part number of just the bell armature for item 28? Or how far the tip sticks out so I can figure it out?

Also, I bought jaw drive gears from both Pinball Life and Marco, both mesh way too tight with the brass gear on the motor compared to the original, has anyone found a fix to make them operate smoother? Thinking I may have to grind open the mounting points for the motor so I can create a gap

Thank you - Paul

Quoted from Lodewijk:

Hello,
Don't know if I am in the right place but I am looking for a playfield plastic which is supposed to be next to Red's mouth.
It's missing from my Roadshow. Didn't notice it for years but now I know it's missing I want to have it. Can't find this single plastic in any shop and since it's a clear one I am thinking of reproducing it myself.
Does anyone have a file / dxf / scan for me ?
Thanks![quoted image][quoted image]

Mine is cracked and repaired, but I can get a scan and add it to the gallery tomorrow.

Lodewijk Scan of a few plastics for scale.

One thing that has always bothered me is the angle of the "Start City" plastic. I am working on a bracket that will square it up with the scoop. Would anyone else be interested in one before I have a fab shop laser them out? Would look like this, with a big 1/2" hole for the wire and #6-32 tapped holes to attach the sign. Material would be 304 stainless steel, .048" thick. I would provide #6 screws to re-attach plastic instead of rivets. I don't know final pricing, but probably $20 + shipping by the time the shop sets up the machine for the bends.

I just rebuilt both heads and now Red has very loud eyes, can hear them even with the glass on. By loud, I mean you can hear the solenoids buzzing, not clicking or hammering. Does this mean I need new Solenoids, or is there something I should try to adjust?

#3503 1 year ago
Quoted from phs4real:

I would like one. How difficult was it to drill out rivets on the sign so it can be reused?

If you are able to take the bracket/sign/wire out and do it on a workbench drilling out is easy, just go slow. The rivets are a soft steel.

Has anyone else ordered the stand-up targets based on the manual (ITEMS 43,44, 45) - which calls out rear mounts, only to find out they are all front mounts in your game? Just wondering if it was switched at some point, or if they are all front mounts. No I need to decide if I order more, or just drill them out and bolt together, ughh.

Finished up the straight bracket for the "Start City" sign. I eliminated the bulb and added a scoop light instead, but the light could be put onto the bolt and held in-place with a nut. If anyone is interested I would do another run of this bracket for $20.20230121_101446 (resized).jpg20230121_101446 (resized).jpg20230121_101509 (resized).jpg20230121_101509 (resized).jpg20230121_101517 (resized).jpg20230121_101517 (resized).jpg20230121_101500 (resized).jpg20230121_101500 (resized).jpg

JBtheAVguy Apron bubbling is pretty common problem on Road Show, that may be something I address, but I have a couple other projects in the line-up. I have been thinking about making a high apron that eliminates the chrome wire-form like on No Good Gofers. I also was thinking of using the Promo Stand plastics in the apron with a back light, Ted or left, Red on Right. It would require trimming the plastics down, but there seems to be plenty of them available on eBay.

Has anyone else used an actual small boom box to replace the radio? Working on it now, probably going to go with Yellow, adding GI light to the speaker grills and a RED LED to the middle to replace the one the was on top of the radio.20230117_185416 (resized).jpg20230117_185416 (resized).jpg20230128_144509 (resized).jpg20230128_144509 (resized).jpg

I've bitten the bullet and ordered a Color DMD. Anybody have any tips or tricks (or cautionary tales) prior to me installing this thing in a few days?

Pretty straight forward install, I recommend either bringing a laptop to your machine, or printing out the instructions for your first install. After the install you can pull the 2 fuses from the DMD high-power section as an extra precaution.

Does anyone have the skills to recreate the "ROAD BUSTERS" logo from Red and Ted's shirts into a file I can have made into an 8" tall sticker? Looking to make a custom topper.

Nice RS pickup, it really is a fun game! Curious where you found the radio decal set? If it's available to purchase, I certainly would be interested.

That decal is available on ebay (I am not affiliated with Classic Arcade) or I offer a painted radio option.

Painted and light radio option: ebay.com link: itm [I would make to order at this point (red or yellow).]

I'm working on a new interactive topper design for Road Show. This is made from real barricade lights, cut down to be shorter, so parts are costly. I need to finish the circuit to get the barricade lights to trigger off both bride out sign, but should be ready for a small run in a few weeks for $200 + Shipping. Please DM me to be put on an interest list.

Quoted from OTRChief:

What are you using to trigger the lights?

I am creating a topper which will trigger with the Bridge out ramp lights, and also have a constant always on LED to light up the center sign. Will be ready in the next couple of weeks. Let me know if you're interested. https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/road-show-club-hard-hats-required-on-site/page/74#post-7639869

Who needs a topper for this awesome game? 5 are ready to ship, I will only make 10 total of this topper (including mine) before I move on to other projects.

My Road Show had LEDs when I got it, and I didn't see a lot of ghosting in the inserts, so I didn't go LEDOCD. BUT the GI flickered horribly with LEDs, so I did install GIOCD, also available from Comet now. The other bonus with GI OCD is that you can dim the backbox when there is an active ball, so less glare on the glass.

#3870 5 months ago
Quoted from Davi:

GIOCD is not the only one option, there is a cheaper alternate available.

Davi What is the alternative for GIOCD?

Quoted from allsportdvd:

The big clear one goes on top of the bulldozer blade as pictured above but mine kept getting caught on the double post behind or prevented the blade lowering properly so I removed it

There are (2) types of bull dozer blade, the earlier ones did not have this plastic guard, so your machine may not need it.
