Quoted from Bakchos:

Hi group,
I might have a roadshow this Sunday, I'm already looking for mods...
I was looking at pin2dmd and I can't find if the color files are available or just in wip version.
Anyone knows?
Thanks

Quoted from Bakchos:

Thanks, but that's a colordmd
I want to try pin2dmd for this one.

My bad, I have no experience with pin2dmd.

#3553 62 days ago

Thanks, that's the file I use on my virtual pinball.
But in the forum it says it's not for the real pinball, just the virtual.
I will try to search the forums.

SOLVED - Just experienced an odd situation. I fired up the machine for the first time in a few days, and as soon as the ball hit the shooter lane, it started racking up points. Any time I hit the flipper (either one) it would rack up points. It sounded as if I were shooting the spinner. On one occasion it would load two balls into the shooter lane. Any idea what might be going on?

The funny thing was it was on Miami, and I had a 300M ball.

Most likely a stuck switch. You need to test switches in “T2 Switch levels”. And locate the active switch. Good luck

#3557 62 days ago
Quoted from Santis:

Most likely a stuck switch.

Thanks. When I just now turned the machine on I got the following message - "GND. SHORT ROW 1 IS STUCK CLOSED."

When I do a T2 Switch Level test I get the following: Dozer Up (switch 15), Always Closed (Switch 24), and Trough Jam (Switch 41)

#3558 62 days ago

SOLVED - I had removed the coin mechs that came with the machine. I set them in the spot where the coin tray was supposed to be. Over time one of them shifted and was touching the slam tilt switch that is on floor of the machine, close to the tilt bob. All is well with the world!

Has anyone else used an actual small boom box to replace the radio? Working on it now, probably going to go with Yellow, adding GI light to the speaker grills and a RED LED to the middle to replace the one the was on top of the radio.20230117_185416 (resized).jpg20230128_144509 (resized).jpg

My Road Show was delivered yesterday. I have never played a game with such a strong shaker motor! Damn thing feels like it's trying to tunnel it's way through my floor. Such a fun game!

Looks like you had the Dewalt or Milwaukee version to choose from.

Mine is powerful too. Kind of feels (and sounds) like it wants to shake the cab apart. This is my first game with a shaker, is there a way to dial it down a little bit?

There is a setting in Adjustments for the shaker motor strength - check the manual if you don't see it.

The problem is even on the weakest setting its still a bit too much imo. I would love an even weaker setting, too bad Soren didn't coded this into the latest official game ROM.

Have you rotated the weights in the motor to be at a right angle?

#3567 60 days ago
Quoted from germsinc:

On my shaker there is an indent for the screw, If I try to screw it in another angle the weight gets loose after a while. If the motor rod had several indents at different angles that had been great.

Found it, thanks. Changed it to "soft" which helped. My guess is the unit needs some work too, I'll have to check it out.

I got a Road Show project a while back. I pulled everything apart and cleaned/repaired it all. Such a fun pin!
I like the original look, but I did customize it with colored Perfect Play bands, and made my own Blasting Zone mod (flash looks bright red IRL).

I think I figured it out…. All making sense…
I need a Chris Hibler and a u24 6264.
Previously had reset issues,
Point well taken… the kahr was a bandaid.
All feedback appreciated!

#3572 57 days ago

Is this the correct 6264 RAM for U24 on the dot matrix controller board?

Try to reseat your connectors at the DMD and DMD controller board. If that does not work, try reseating the connectors between the MPU and the DMD controller.

Clempo,
Appreciate you taking the time and thought to help.
Already tried, figuring that was the easiest test.
Will try again later today, outta respect and hope from your feedback!

I keep repeating myself, but for me it was a revelation that the problem was the connector two boards away.

Are there any good videos on how to assemble the heads? I have the eyes in but they are quite tight, not sure how to get the eyelids on either

A Rudy series is available, it's applicable for RS:

Okay heads assembled! Thanks for the video
Now next question, part number for the spring on the underside of the bulldozer blade?

It's out of stock at PSPA. I think the standard ball gate extension spring will do the job. Cut it, and bend the end similar to original spring.

I have some of those. They push in from the outside of the heads
You’d think with a few hundred pictures I’d be covered but no. What goes in the circled part here?

Finished up making some straight brackets for the Start City Sign, let me know if you're interested. Have 8 extras.

Does anyone know the name or part number of this ramp switch bracket please? There's one on each ramp - both look to be identical.

Debating buying new replacements vs tumbling existing (which means putting a new plug on my tumbler...)

Marco sells them for $21 each.

You can do a lot of tumbling for that price.

5 minutes with a wire brush would clean those right up. I even put mine on a buffer wheel and polish them. Here is a cabinet bolt I just did.

I am due to start a full refurbishment of my Roadshow and am really trying to track down a set of Official Planetary Pinball Cabinet Decals. Does anyone know of any available anywhere or does anyone have a set they would be willing to sell. I have a set from elsewhere, but the colour match is no where near the originals.

Any help or advice in tracking down a set of Official PPS Roadshow Cabinet Decals would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Be careful.
Official/licensed/geniune with a hologram sticker on it means -> royalty to PPS, nothing more. Quality/color match is not guaranteed.

Does anyone know the item number for the spring that goes around the cam for the dozer blade beneath the playfield? Mine is missing and I can’t find it referenced in the manual.

Consider Pinball Decals EU. I have a set of RS decals from them that I will be installing next weekend. I placed JM decals from their shop and they were excellent. Only took around 2.5 weeks to receive in the US after ordering. I'm sure you'll get yours faster. I'll post pics here after I place them.

I have a few strange issues to try and solve on my Roadshow. Would be grateful for any advice on what to check.

1. The volume doesn't actually change when I change the volume. On screen it shows the volume change when I press the buttons between 8 and 31, but the actual volume of the machine stays the same.

2. I am not getting the beep sound when I scroll through the menus. In game sound seems fine.

3. Red's eye are not moving. Eyelids are working fine.

4. Two of the pop bumper lights are really dim.
