The correct part number is A-17767 not A-17797.
Quoted from kdunbar:[quoted image]I think this is the part you’re looking for https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/A-13270
Thank you very much! It seems to be the same used for the start city event kickout!
I was disappointed with the lights for the US outline on my roadshow, especially the two bayonet bulbs near the fish, so I replaced them with some blue 4smd blade bulbs I had from an old T2 machine. 4smd Bulbs are typically Too awfully bright but in this case, i think they worked out great. I’m glad I saved them this time vs throwing them away.
For the 2 bayonets near The fish, I made 2 double blue flex bulbs, out of 4 blue flex bulbs and they match great. pics are is before and after the upgrades. The third pic is a white double flex that I made out of a couple single flex bulbs I had for the large blast value insert. Sometimes you have to make your own bulbs to fill out your inserts.

Are there brass ones available? Is there an RC hobby replacement gear available? Marco charging 13.00 for it and OOS. This looks like a pretty easy simple gear, should be one out there someplace reasonable.

Looks awesome. I picked up a RS a couple of weeks ago and am working on ideas for lighting. Any tips are appreciated!
I have a question regarding the spinner as I recently snagged a nice Roadshow and going through it to make sure everything works. The spinner works in test, but I'm trying to confirm that it's working in game. Regardless of whether you are in a mode or not, should spinner revolutions add to your score? I'm trying to confirm when the spinner should add points to know whether it's properly registering in game. Does the spinner make a noise when it spins in general, during certain modes, or not at all.
Thanks!
Interesting, there's also some wire hold-downs along the right side as well that lead toward the back of the cabinet. So whatever it was, there was wiring to it. Not familiar with anything having been mounted there though.

I was requested to make the mirrored version of my Shapeways hazard plunger plate.

I'm guessing whatever it was was an add-on. Haven't seen any issues with the game without it.
I also noticed a lock was installed (the kind that uses a cylinder shaped key), probably to keep the machine turned off. No key for it. I'll probably leave it for now.
How come some of Red and Teds lower lip is painted to match the top and others aren't?
The one i'm getting is unpainted so wondering if it's something people add themselves and any idea of the colours?
Quoted from DaveTheTrain:How come some of Red and Teds lower lip is painted to match the top and others aren't?
I think it simply wears off after some time. Some people repaint it, others leave it alone.
The original flyer shows both lower lips painted:

Hey guys just joined the club and going through a machine that definitely needs some love. On the long list of things I want to fix eventually the flipper opto boards were replaced with leaf switches and I have a simple question on the left side are the two upper flippers just combined into a single pin on the connector?
On my roadshow the ball lock kickout flasher got stuck on. I saw it and pulled the bulb before it melted anything. Any ideas where to look first? Thanks!
I posted this in my ramp thread, but I thought I would share it here also. I made a decent set of ramps off my mold tooling this weekend to get my own machine back together. I have one issue to work out with a wavy corner at the one exit, and will be making a half dozen sets or so soon. Stickers are only available from Australia right now since they are licensed.

I don't see a flasher listed for the ball lock in the manual?
Quoted from TomT:I don't see a flasher listed for the ball lock in the manual?
Top left, right where the ball comes out from the lock. Flashes when ball comes out of there.

I'm guessing #38? It's the only flasher in that area other than the back panel flashers.

Maybe. Look at the pic in the post above mine. It’s a yellow flasher just behind the lite radio riot sign. I’m not near the machine right now but will be later. Thanks

Ok that should be #38 start with transistor #Q15 on the driver board most likely at a minimum it will need to be replaced.

Yes, #38, called Left Ramp.
20200707_195412 (resized).jpg20200707_195437 (resized).jpg20200707_195705 (resized).jpgDoes anyone need a used speaker panel plastic? Some minor scratches (but not terrible), but if yours is beat...not a bad deal...free!...pay shipping to wherever...shoot me a pm....
...sold!
I located q15 on the power driver board. I didn’t pull the board yet, or check with a meter, but nothing obvious yet. I’ll get into it more in the next couple days. Thanks all.

Bump...anyone know?

Not sure what pin your speaking of...I know the power to the boards (opto) goes from one side and "daisy chains" to the other board. Pic?

The yellow/black is not in use (99%).

I know how the power daisy chains but the flipper opto boards have two per board Roadshow has three flippers on the left side I was wondering if the two upper flippers are combined to run through one opto.

Pretty sure the manual covers that! Part 3?
Quoted from monkfe:Anyone have a translite they want to get rid of? shoot me a PM
There is one on eBay for $99 right now. Not sure what the going rate on these are.
Quoted from JodyG:There is one on eBay for $99 right now. Not sure what the going rate on these are.
I would recommend avoid the translites from ClassicArcades. The colors aren't a great match and they are printed on a different material which is much more translucent that the white, opaque material that the OEM translites were printed on. I have been trying to work with ClassicArcades for about 6 weeks on sending me a blank piece of OEM translite material to double-up the translite he sent me because the new one on its own just doesn't look right.
monkfe - I still have my OEM translite which is in good but not great condition if you're interested. Not sure how bad the one you have is to determine whether mine would be an improvement. If so, I could sell it to ya cheap or just sell it off for use as wall art.
anyone know if the dozer depicted on the Translite is an actual model of dozer? ...looks like a Cat D8T, but maybe an older version
I have just finished restoring this machine and the next day the Start event sign broke. Does anyone have one about the place at a fair price.
Thanks.
Quoted from MrMikeman:Pretty sure the manual covers that! Part 3?
Yeah I read that in the manual and it shows the upper left flipper opto on the right flipper board so the right flipper button would control the upper left flipper?
Williams_1994_Red_Ted_s_Road_Show_Operations_Manual_October_1994_OCR_searchable_includes_parts_information_and_schematics.pdfHonestly, I believe the manual is wrong.
The game ROM just fires BOTH Middle and Upper Left when it sees the 'Upper Left' flipper opto open.

are these different from the Pinbits ramp flaps? I have a set of those waiting in the wings.

Not sure what Pinbits is selling, I know they sell Cliffy's stuff and vice versa. Cliffy's are stainless though.

well hell. Thats embarrassing. I apologize to my friends at pinbits and will not make these ramp flaps. I don't know how I missed these on their site- I always check first as I don't want to step on their toes.

Don’t be too hasty! There are a LOT of items on the Pinbits shop that have been out of stock for a very long time. I’m sure they are lovely people and possibly close friends, but there’s no harm offering an alternative if one supplier won’t restock a product that is in demand.

That really sucks! Mine was broken when I bought it. I couldn’t find it anywhere, but finally lucked into a Pinsider selling leftover plastics they didn’t need. Good luck!
