I love my Road Kings.

But! But! But! Half of the reason to play Road Kings is to hear that screamin' 80's synthesized guitar!

#6 10 years ago

That's very impressive!! Can this be bought as a conversion package? I have Road Kings, but as it stands, it's not a keeper... with it converted to this, it would be given a new lease of life, and may be promoted to the keepers list!!

Thanks for the positive responses! We brought the game to the Dutch Pinball Open, where Martin of Pinballnews shot this video.

Well, I must say, I liked the layout but thought the rules were to simple, so it was an easy choice

I like the original music (and sounds and lights) as well, it was the simple rules that made me think of redoing it. One thing I always thought while getting the 2 timelocks was 'why doesn't it give a 3th ball as a reward?'. That's become one of the few rules that still looks like the original (timelocks, and this time to make it a 3 ball multiball), but almost all other rules are completely new with 10 missions, 4 main-modes, some other modes and a wizard mode.
Started in 2010 with creating a 'P-ROC to system 11 pcb' and after that it took 'some time' (well.... some.... ) and a new programmer who's done most of the current software to get where we are now. Glad you guys like the first look of it.

Any updates on if/when this may become available?

#12 10 years ago

Very simple, but I liked it when I had it. I always loved the timed MB shot. I'll have to check this out later in more detail.

So awesome. I love these updates for older games! Its nice that they might come out for these less expensive games, and make them fun and still affordable!

Was that an excitebike animation around 1:09?

For the record, Just throwing this out there... If you ever made a Haunted House 2.0 I would bankrupt myself if necessary in order to fund one for my collection! There's just so many possibilities to explore with this table, especially if you could add a multiball function (yes I am aware there is a mulitball/speech conversion already available) you could have a ton of fun on this classic but seemingly unfinished pinball!

I agree. Love the use of the ZZ Top. Does anyone know if they've shelved this project for awhile or can it be purchased? My email is lewingard at yahoo and I'm looking for a conversion kit.

I love my RK it was the first pin I fell in love with. This project is very cool but I hope they include a option to also run the original soundtrack with better sound etc. So cool..GREAT WORK!

I'm in full agreement. Next to BK2000, RK has some of the most bad ass 80s power synth, IMO. It was even cooler how the main play track was multilayered.

Can I obtain this kit?

#22 7 years ago

Good to hear from you. I think the game turned out great, but we left it alone for quite some time now (some minor tweaks would be nice, but it's become a great game, even without those tweaks, I think).
There isn't a kit, but it can be done by yourself if you really want to.
We had a person asking for our software. After some discussion, we gave him the code, but after we'd given it, and told about a few 'things to do' we never heard from him again. It's not 'very easy' to convert, but if you really want to, send me or Pieter a pm.

I'm the guy. I still have the code but I was having issues getting it to run. I was and still am new to proc. I've been writing my own code (in MPF) for the game for the last 2 years and I would love to get your code running once I get my game running. I guess I had a bunch of questions about how to get it going and didn't want to bother you. I even went as far as getting a spare ramp so i could convert it to your configuration.

Oh and I got the spinner too. It's a really great game and I hope more people get to play it.

As many others have also expressed interest in this conversion... I too am interested... primarily in the hardware/software end. I'd like to buy it from someone who could package it. Moding the backglass and adding a spinner would be easy enough for me but whatever, chips/board/programming far beyond me.

If someone could package it, maybe kick 1/2 $ back the Dutch guys for developing it all... would be cool!
