I had some trouble with this flipper and it just stopped working. Changed the coil, checked wire continuity from coil to back box, put in a new transistor at Q14. Long story short the flipper now works. Not sure what item fixed it, but its working.

While doing this I noticed that the upper right flipper does not fire in test mode.

It works fine in ball search and during gameplay. But not in test. Is this normal on Ripley’s?

Also, what are other peoples experience with this flipper going bad? Anyone? Just curious if it going bad is common.

Thanks

Mat

In test, did you enable the high power for coils and flashers ?

Do the other flippers work in test ?

yes, high power is on during the tests. Both lower L/R flipper coils work in test, but not the top right.
That only works during a game or ball search. Very strange.

I was with him when he tested this stuff. The other flippers coils and flashers work fine in test. We had the coin door closed.

We had replaced fuses the coil and the transistor and that one flipper test just wouldn’t work.

Then we randomly had the ball search go off after turning the game on and the flipper fired right up. The game is currently functioning 100% but that one test still doesn’t work.

As long as it works in game play. Call it a day.

Mine does the same thing, seems like a bug in the test.

Thanks for the info. This is so strange that a only that coil only fires in game and not test. Made it very frustrating to figure out if I had fixed my issue or not.

Well now I know and others can read this post of they come across the same issue. Thanks again for the confirmation.

It definitely appears to be a bug. It was discussed in another RBION previously...
