I am pretty good at touching up with paint. I can make this worn spot look better. But my question is... can I simply put a strip of mylar over it? Or will it effect game play? Does anyone find mylar edges to change the direction of the ball? I dont see that this spot would mean much for hindering a ball path... but will other pinball players be offended that there is a mylar strip somewhat in the middle of the playfield?

If it's worn through the graphics only, do your best to touch it up and then cut a piece of super thin easily removed mylar to go over the area. For ball drag or notability - very little to none. It's not like you can do any worse than what's already there. If it's actually worn down the wood, either throw a chunk of thick mylar over it and be done or you could use a little wood filler, sand, touch up and then thin mylar over that.

On a side note, the pf looks a little grubby. I'd take some Novus 2 polish after it before doing any of the above. Good luck!

Use a good sized Mylar patch, trimmed as well as you can to match PF lines, and it will be fine, depending on the quality of your touch ups of course!

I assume you mean lines in the design on the playfield?

How do we know the thickness of mylar for sale?

The playfield is major grubby. I just spent a good hour taking the apron off and pulling parts off to clean. Layer of dirt. It will take a while to get this one so it sparkles.

Right. It can help hide the edges of your Mylar patch.

Might be tough on a PF as busy as that one tho.
