Does Ripleys have a combo or 44/47 and 555 bulbs - or do Sterns from the 2000s usually just have one kind?

I just looked this up. They are combo 44/555. If you look on page 5 of the manual they list which is which. Also they used color 44's. For example , the back panel used alternating red/yellow 44's. The color ones can be bought at Macro.
LED's look horrible in the inserts unless you buy an OCD board

OCD boards are great. If you decide to use one of those, make sure to NOT get non-ghosting LEDs (get the cheaper ones). Non-ghosting LEDs prevent the OCD boards effects from working correctly.
Quoted from lyonsden:If you LED the game, get non-ghosting LEDs for the controlled lamps.
Even if you go this route, you'll lose the fading effects in the game: it especially ruins the attract mode.
LED OCD might also work well; but if you just want bright, clean the inserts, clean the bulbs (or get new ones), and you may be surprised how good bulbs can look, and you'll still have the nice fade effects.
I have a mint RBION (https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/for-trade-ripley-s-believe-it-or-not), and tried some LEDs and it only seemed marginally brighter, as the bulbs and inserts are clean like new.
