    So where do you go to shop for kids toys now? online has nice pictures but you can't touch them.. or am I dating myself and all of that is passé now.

    That is really a key item. management that looks only at short term profit instead of long term profitability is the primary reason most of these companies die out. That and an unwillingness to change with the times.
