Horrible. He battled it for a long time though.

One of my favorites, and one of the reasons I started drumming when I was 11 years old. Hours playing along with YYZ live from Exit Stage Left (well, trying to). RIP man. What a fantastic & friggin talented musician.

    Quoted from Gryszzz:

Who's wearing out all those Rush albums tonight?
    What's your favorite track?
    Without question, this is mine
    THE TREES

    Quoted from electricsquirrel:

Farewell to Kings, takes on a new meaning tonight.

Ironic. Just jammed two games of BSD with volume down...blaring Cygnus X-1. It was awesome.

Man, what a loss. You feel it no matter what Rush song I’ve thrown on since hearing this news earlier.

    Quoted from CUJO:

I consider Neil to be in the top 3 rock drummers of all time....

So does Danny Carey. And Neil had mad respect for him too...understandably.

Heard Rush playing at various times in the stadiums during both playoff games today. Cool to see the teams (or at least the tech who controls the music) giving Rush some love.

this version of Necromancer is not too shabby...

    Not at all. Good post.

Ironically I just listened to the whole Farewell to Kings album while working out in the garage yesterday.

I knew his day would come, as it does for all of us. Especially with his history of cancer. But damn…what a loss to music as a whole.

At least he left a huge footprint, and we were able to enjoy his talents for as long as we did.
