RIP. I had met him a few years ago at TPA. He was a great guy. Sorry to hear.

#20 2 years ago

Sad news indeed.

#21 2 years ago

He was an amazing player, coder and great guy outside of Pinball. He'll be hugely missed. What a loss.

#22 2 years ago

I can’t believe how nice he was and how much time he gave me at Pinburgh a few years ago as an annoying fanboy talking rules.

Legendary player, coder, and human from what I could tell.

Pinball won’t be the same without him.

#23 2 years ago

Very sad. He was the best coder and a positive impact in pinball. Prayers to his family and friends

#24 2 years ago

Wow, this one really hurts : (. What a terrible event to find out about.

I am on temporary assignment at Tinker, but when I get home this weekend I am absolutely playing my AFM. We're going to have a marathon afternoon.

Also, when I fly back into Cincy, I'm heading to Comic 2 Games in Florence, KY, and I am playing every game Lyman coded there.

It'll be a fitting way to wish him off.

#25 2 years ago

I can't believe this. I had to make sure it wasn't April 1st

RIP Lyman

#26 2 years ago

Dear lord. I am beside myself.
Prayers .

RIP

Just revisited the interview Clay did with him all the way back in 2007. Really an interesting guy to listen to who had a very cool entry into the industry of pinball. Check it out if you haven't already. - http://www.pinrepair.com/topcast/showget.php?id=50

#34 2 years ago

Very sad, RIP Lyman. Prayers to his family and closest friends. I talked with Lyman at the Pinball Hall of Fame a number of years back. A very nice guy, legendary coder, and an awesome player as well. One of the most unique and memorable approaches and pinball playing styles. Lyman’s Lament is such a cool programming addition to Monster Bash also.

#35 2 years ago

#36 2 years ago

I am beyond sad... I got to know Lyman over the last 4 years through numerous email exchanges and testing some of the code releases he did. I considered him a friend and I wish so much I had got the chance to meet him in person.

When he saw that I was struggling with anxiety recently, he reached out to me and said if I ever needed to talk, he would be there to listen.

I enjoyed our conversations, the banter and the talk about pinball. The last I talked to him was just after the Rush reveal. He said he was a big Rush fan and I think he was looking forward to playing the game.
