I saw this too.
Revolutionary player and designer and really a sweet guy. One of the true giants in pinball history.
He seemed relatively young. Hope the best for his family. He left us with some amazing games to remember him by.
Oh no, what a loss for the community. Condolences to his family and close friends. RIP and thank you for what you did for this hobby.
He was an amazing player, coder and great guy outside of Pinball. He'll be hugely missed. What a loss.
I can’t believe how nice he was and how much time he gave me at Pinburgh a few years ago as an annoying fanboy talking rules.
Legendary player, coder, and human from what I could tell.
Pinball won’t be the same without him.
Wow, this one really hurts : (. What a terrible event to find out about.
I am on temporary assignment at Tinker, but when I get home this weekend I am absolutely playing my AFM. We're going to have a marathon afternoon.
Also, when I fly back into Cincy, I'm heading to Comic 2 Games in Florence, KY, and I am playing every game Lyman coded there.
It'll be a fitting way to wish him off.
RIP
Just revisited the interview Clay did with him all the way back in 2007. Really an interesting guy to listen to who had a very cool entry into the industry of pinball. Check it out if you haven't already. - http://www.pinrepair.com/topcast/showget.php?id=50
RIP Lyman...an all around great guy. My thoughts are with all of his friends and family, what a terrible loss.
THE KING OF CODE. RIP Lyman. We all love you and the legacy you have left for us in your amazing games.
Very sad, RIP Lyman. Prayers to his family and closest friends. I talked with Lyman at the Pinball Hall of Fame a number of years back. A very nice guy, legendary coder, and an awesome player as well. One of the most unique and memorable approaches and pinball playing styles. Lyman’s Lament is such a cool programming addition to Monster Bash also.
I am beyond sad... I got to know Lyman over the last 4 years through numerous email exchanges and testing some of the code releases he did. I considered him a friend and I wish so much I had got the chance to meet him in person.
When he saw that I was struggling with anxiety recently, he reached out to me and said if I ever needed to talk, he would be there to listen.
I enjoyed our conversations, the banter and the talk about pinball. The last I talked to him was just after the Rush reveal. He said he was a big Rush fan and I think he was looking forward to playing the game.

Oh man far too young to go. What a loss, my condolences to his family and GF Penni. A truly talented Gentleman!
Unfortunately, I never had the chance to meet him, but I've always enjoyed playing his games, and hearing him speak about pinball in interviews.
My sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Wow, just wow, terrible day for pinball. Condolences to his immediate family and to all those pinball family members he undoubtedly touched.
Holy shit! Not what I wanted to see on a Friday morning! RIP Lyman. One of the pinball hall of famers if there was one. What a sad day.
