I don't have to steal bases. I steal bases because I want to. - Lou Brock

I’m sorry to hear this. I always admired Brock, even as a Mets fan.

My childhood has taken quite the 1-2 punch to the gut this past week.

He was a great great player.

    RIP Lou

All time great and still the Cubs worst trade. Hats off.

not only a class player but a great man all around. Cardinal Legend that will be missed !

Lost in the flash of his stolen bases is the fact that he had 3000+ hits. Great all round player and by all accounts a good person.

Read last night that he and Seaver faced off against each other more time than any other pitcher/hitter in their careers.

“Lou Brock, along with Maury Wills, are probably the two players most responsible for the biggest change in the game over the last fifteen years - the stolen base.” - Tom Seaver

One of my all time favourites! Loved watching him play. RIP Lou!

Ricky might have broken his record but Lou was the best! Class act all the way! Guy has a19 year career and almost a .300 batting average. Wow! GeeZ, this is making me think about how much I miss the atmosphere of a ballpark.

Lou Brock was one of a group of very few players
that set the standard in a statistical category for his generation.
The guy could really swipe 'em.
One of my favorite's growing up.
One of the great all-time Cardinals.
    One of the best ever.

Lou was a revered player and Cardinal alumnus in St. Louis and a class act through and through. Sad day for Cardinal nation but we were so blessed with his talents and his service to the community over the decades.

Baseball has lost many of its great as of late, Lou was among some of the greatest of loses may he rest in peace.

Can picture him leading off a base in the way, only he could
