This one cuts deep, his music is basically the soundtrack to my life, it's been there for as long as I can remember. RIP John, I can't be left without a feeling that you still had some stories to tell me.

This is sad news.

Saw him in '82. Bruised Orange is a good album.

""If You Don't Want My Love" was an easy one to sing in the shower.

Joan Baez tribute:

Sorry to hear it. Just shed a tear listening to Sam Stone.

This one's a bit more upbeat, my brother had the band play this for the first dance at his wedding (he married well).

Saw him a couple of times over the years, he always closed with "Lake Marie". We gotta go now...

Another great tune, this was my intro to Prine.

"When I get to heaven, I'm gonna shake God's hand
Thank him for more blessings than one man can stand
Then I'm gonna get a guitar and start a rock-n-roll band
Check into a swell hotel; ain't the afterlife grand?"

Lyrics to the last song on his last album.

RIP

Prine’s office feels like a clubhouse: There’s a pool table, black-and-white family photos, a pinball machine and Christmas lights all over.
