RIP (if he's actually dead this time)

The last of the originals.

Saw him in 2001 with Little Richard in the Bronx. Richard was still a lunatic with a very high energy show, but Jerry looked about 90 years old and just wanted to play country songs. He did indulge us all at the end by playing Shaking and Great Balls of Fire and even...very, very slowly...kicking his stool away at the end.

Was a fun show!

I read yesterday that his death was fake and he was still alive. I guess the news of his fake death killed him.

I was thinking about this when I delved into his terrible state of health.
The early death reports were probably accurate. It’s entirely possible he died and was revived. Either way he clearly has been on death’s door for some time!

An unfortunate loss, but he certainly didn’t live an easy life
