    Eat a Turnbuckle today!

RIP - he was alot of fun--before wrestling was a soft core porn show...and was just good clean fake entertainment.

    WHAT. The. F.

George was quite old I suppose... what a shame. One of the nicest boys in the business. 79 is a good run for a wrestler, sadly.

Anybody catch his performance as Tor Johnson in Ed Wood? Killed it.

sad this makes 3 wrestlers in a week. chavo sr, Nicole bass and now George

I agree. He really WAS tor johnson! Great performance in a great movie.

Loved him in Ed Wood, one of my favorite movies. "Now do my toes!"

He started wrestling back in the 60's, .....when I was a kid, ya know,..... when wrestling was real. The Mighty Sheik, Dominic Dannuci, Pamparo Firpo, Haystacks Calhoun, Kurt Von Hess,Big Cat Earnie Ladd, Johnny Powers. Every Saturday afternoon on our local channel in those small television studios with about 25 people total watching around the ring. Nothing better than a chair across the head, an eye gouge, brass knuckles hidden in their trunks....those were the days!

I had no idea what he was like in real life. What a guy and what a great wrestling character.

I think my favorite George Steele spot is when Captain Lou took him to an electro-therapist to try to tame his out of control behavior. "HOW NOW BROWN COW!"

    Rest in peace, Animal.

Absolutely agree! Loved "Mine" too. And his obsession with Miss Elizabeth in WWf. Great feud he had with Macho. Also RIP.
