I loved his music. Take me home tonight, two tickets to paradise...classic songs.

    #4 1 year ago

Dang, that sucks. Great musician! RIP.

    #5 1 year ago

R.I.P. Eddie Money...I saw him a few times in my life..Always put on a great show and his tickets were always fairly priced..Rick Cua

who was a bass player for the "Outlaws" told me he was a great guy...Rare to find these days in the entertainment industry.

If there is any consolation, the mans music will allow him to be known forever.
How many of us will have any lasting legacy?

I just saw him in July. I’m glad I was able to go. He wasn’t singing that much and his kids did most of the show.

    RIP

    He was incredible, R.I.P.!

    Yes great music indeed.

My best friend that was his favorite and never missed a concert here in Michigan. He had a Rib Company and Eddie loved them everytime he came to Detroit and was lucky enough to meet him.

    #16 1 year ago

Him and Glenn Frey always struck me as “real” guys. Rest In Peace. Glens got the two tickets to paradise for ya.

Eddie Money with Pat Travers in 1980. Both at the heights of their careers. 4841FB77-0A34-4DC7-9422-44AC0338F1A6 (resized).jpeg

I'll always remember being excited when I happened to catch the video for Take Me Home Tonight on MTV...back when they actually played music. He had so many great songs. So glad I finally got to see him in concert less than just two years ago. In addition to music, it was impressive to see how much he really cared about veterans and his country too.

Sammy Hagar posted this....Eddie was definitely one of THE GUYS back the day.

This sucks. My wife and I have seen him a few times like most here. Weve been watching his show the last year and half. The last episode in April had him going into the doctor with some worries. The show started up last night and now he's dead. Big loss.

We were talking about how its weird that some people never know how sick they are when they are dying. Its crazy. Eddie had cancer in his stomach, liver and lymph nodes when he went in for a regular check up. He had no idea it was stage 4. Life is a weird and sometimes f'ed journey.

    RIP

Sucks, that big C, especially when it sneaks up on you like that. R.I.P.
    Your music lives on.

Rosanna's daddy had a car she loved to drive
Stole the keys one night and took me for a ride
Turned up the music just as loud as it could go
Blew out the speakers in her daddy's radio

She was shakin' (oh oh ooh oh)
Snappin' her fingers (oh oh ooh oh)
She was movin' round and round (oh oh ooh oh)
That girl was shakin' (oh oh ooh oh

    RIP Eddie...

Saw him in July of 84 at Saginaw Civic Center with Ratt and .38 Special. He was great.

    Where does the time go?

    #25 1 year ago

Saw Eddie Money back in 1988 at a small dance club in Orlando. It was great show and probably could have spoken to him if wanted to. One of my favorite artists from the seventies and early eighties. Favorite son is “Think I’m in love”.

Pat Travers replaced Ozzy Osbourne , in Orlando, after the Randy Rhoads tragedy and put on a pretty good show! 1982

Interesting article that brings it all into perspective. These rockers are all on the front end of the baby boom generation. I’m not too far behind at 67.

Loved his music. Lots of good memories with his songs.

    RIP.

A bit sad for me today... always a Money fan, and not just for his tunage...

Ever since blaring his debut album out of our 3rd floor dorm room window while we tossed frisbees and footballs in the park across the street at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond VA.

As luck would have it, Eddie had played in the Richmond Coliseum and 'forgot' to take his girlfriend back with him and left her high and dry in downtown RVA... well, I ended up going out with her from time to time during my time at VCU... she no doubt fit the bill of a rocker groupie back in the day, a lot of fun and some great Eddie stories (she always talked highly of the guy even after all of his shenanigans)... would have enjoyed hanging out with his crew back in the late 70s/early 80s.

    #37 1 year ago

A real bummer. I grew up with his music. RIP.

I must admit that I don't really know that much about Eddie Money but really love his big three songs (Two Tickets, Take me home tonight and Shaking).

just looked at this video so classic (Eddie wearing a suite and tie)

I remember he was an opener for the Stones over 40 years ago when Two Tickets to Paradise was charting.

With his passing, he and his career are finally together again.

Love the Money man. Memorable and catchy songs from a guy who should have probably never been a rock star. Cool that somebody seemingly so humble and unassuming was able to have a great life doing something he loved.

    #43 1 year ago

Eddie Money and April Wine, Denver Colorado 1982 what a great show it was.

Pat's show in Cincinnati last Friday was postponed to Oct 18 due to venue construction so I am looking forward to seeing him again for some ass kicking.

    #45 1 year ago

Never seen him so looking forward to it. The show in Houston is kind of a festival at a brewery with Ace headlining....Eddie Trunk hosting. Hopefully you can catch another show soon!

But sad to see another one taken.....but kind of neat to see the circles Eddie ran with over the years...a trip down memory lane....

Actually, it was 173 MPH on the Bonneville Salt Flats. Note the small screen GPS indicated 419 miles West to our destination which was the former Bally's Reno Casino-Resort. Now the Grand Sierra Resort.

The photos above were from June, 2014. This past May, my son moved out to Reno for his career in the Slot industry. Passing through Bonneville, he planned to open up his TT that he trailered out there. Unfortunately, the Playa is under water at the moment.
