Mr. Hoover. Sixteen consecutive GG awards.

Probably the greatest 3B I’ve ever seen.
And a class act to boot.

Met him once in college, U of MD, late 80s/early 90s -- super-nice dude. i knew he was giving a presentation on campus, so planted myself in the hallway where i thought he might be and talked to him a few mins before his speech; even signed a few things for me.
Great third baseman and an even kinder guy. Never seemed to let fame go to his head. RIP, Brooksie.

Saw an old interview with him this evening. He said his proudest achievement was playing 23 years with one organization - the Baltimore Orioles. A major league record. To go along with his 16 Gold Gloves, 18 All Star appearance and winning MVP in American League, World Series and All-Star Game. He was Mr. Oriole (sorry Cal).
