My first encounter with Al was one for the books. I meet Al five minutes before getting in my friends truck to drive to Chicago from New York.. first impressions were not great.. he was shot out of a cannon that day... I was thinking, oh boy, this is going to be a LOOOONG drive... By the time we pulled into Chicago.... We were all thick as thieves and I had a life long friend... Al's passion for pinball was unparalleled.. never have I met someone so into pinball in my life. Our second outing to Chicago Al couldn't drive out so he flew in, without a hotel reservation so Me and my friend Dennis put AL up in our hotel room we bought a cot and the madness begun... Al made everything an Adventure.. Al got us a private tour to the Stern factory where he let everyone know what he thought about the quality of their parts.... I could go on.... he was a legend.

You will be missed Uncle AL.. we lost a brother today...

    Gutted.
    Harry.

    Quoted from Colehvac1:

Heres Al at Chicago expo 2018. Me, my Two sons,Al, and Harry Reimer all shared a hotel room, me and Harry would go down to starbucks every morning, one morning Al came down from the room to the main reception area, we were waiting for him so we could all go to breakfast. All of a sudden i notice Al sitting there with people around him and hes telling stories to them, i started joking with Harry, and we came with when “Uncle Al talks, people listen” i had to take a photo because it really was amazing how it didnt matter where he was or who you were.

After that he was Uncle Al..... he seemed to enjoy the name.

    Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Some great pics from Jack At JJP, including the infamous Willy wonka NDA game. Al signs NDA, plays wonka, and immediately calls everybody he knows to violate the NDA and tell them how awesome it is.
He was very excited that day!
I think I mentioned before Al LOVES pizza, and loved bringing some of his favorite pies to far flung locales like New Jersey to share with everybody over at Classic Pinball.
A story about that mini - he got into a bad habit of using it move pinball machines, despite going through two transmissions. Finally, he straps the head of a CFTBL on the roof of the mini and drives the game back home from upstate.
When he got home, the translite was missing from the game. And that’s before they were easy to get!! A kind stranger on RGP helped him out with that.
He finally got a van after the translite incident. The glass was still there, just not the translite!!
Great picture of Al, Jack, and Kevin at Classic Pinball in Clifton, NJ
Awesome pic of eddie, jack, and Al with an early WOZ, parts unknown. Maybe also in Clifton? I believe al had the first test WOZ on location anywhere.
Nice pic of jack and Al at sunshine laundromat in Brooklyn (where Brooklyn Jack is from!!!)

    Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Some footage of Al at Allentown from my ole public access cable show.
Inside footage starts about 10 minutes in:

Ahh thats when Pinfest was in the small area....

    Quoted from Colehvac1:

He did the 10 games to texas because he loved Rebecca the owner and was loyal to their friendship, i have to say she felt the same way about him, Rebecca felt the same way many of us felt, he was a pain in the ass at times, but he held a special place in our hearts!

I regret not getting together with Al more... truly is the lesson here... we need to spend more time with those we love...

I was thinking about Al too.... Even at a rest stop in the middle of nowhere he hopped out of the truck on just the CHANCE that they had a pinball machine in there.

I have NEVER met anyone as passionate about the hobby as Al.... We have lost a one of a kind gem.

    Quoted from Colehvac1:

It was chicago expo, he was supposed to leave the room at checkout but overslept, security let themselves into his room and woke him, then escorted him and his stuff out of the room, i was there for the first hand, rember that joe and harry?

He was livid.... I will never forget it...

    Uncle Al...
