Bally Linear flipper mechs were a terrible design.

Prone to sticking, prone to getting magnetized, prone to wearing out in only a few months of heavy play.

Back in the 80s, they were already known for being unreliable, and operators would always switch them back to normal Bally flipper mechs.

Do yourself a giant favor and rebuild the mechs with normal Bally rebuild kit:

Not only will your flippers be tight without all the slop, but you get stronger flippers because the old style plungers are 1/2 the weight.

Don't think about it, just do it.

We were all excited to see them on the new games when those things came out, but that little nylon button on the crank arms would wear out in a few months.

Then the whole mech would be sloppy, the plungers heavy.

We always said that those flippers were the reason that Bally went under, lol

OTOH, the Bally pops in the 80s were super easy to service, much better than Williams or Gottlieb.
