Blown transistor? Q16
Coin door switch cuts the high voltage, if the coil locks on when the high voltage is activated the transistor is most likely bad.

If you replaced a flipper coil and wired it backwards you have blown the transistor Q16. The power line wire needs to be soldered to the lug on the coil that has the banded side of the diode. If it was wired incorrectly the transistor needs to be replaced as well as the diode on the coil.
No that is not normal. The EOS will not function without both wires. Page 4 in the manual shows the switch matrix grid and the dedicated switches with their wire colors. Here is a screenshot showing the EOS switches from that page. Also refer to the manual (page 6) for proper coil wiring.
The flipper coils need diodes on Sopranos The picture you posted is of the right flipper assembly, the missing diode is the source of your issues.
