I don't think it's easy. Damn your ramps are crystal clear!

Quoted from Yesh23:

Does anyone have a lead for the center. Drop target plastic?

I was really hoping CPR would make theseplastic sets. Alas, I will keep hoping. I need the center target plastic too (and slingshot plastics, and...)

Quoted from BioBa:

Great. Thank you very much.
Do you remember what lamps sit behind the back board (not back box). #555 or #44?

The "Play Roulette". "3". "2" and "1" are all #555 lamps. The red and blue flashers I believe are #89

Absolutely stoked to get these in the mail today. Like finding a unicorn!

Nos Ramp and Lockdown bar buttons!

Quoted from Ericpinballfan:

Awesome, how did you find that?

I bought some plastics from someone on Facebook, and I mentioned that I was interested in the Riverboat Gambler promo plastic he had in another lot (I didn't care about the others in that lot, so I passed on that). He mentioned that he had some other Riverboat Gambler NOS parts at his shop. Made a deal and I am beyond happy!

Quoted from Netsepp:

Hello,
got my riverboat gambler but without the lockdownbar i am searching for all this buttons (or a replacement).
It is not possible to get all buttons in the shops. have anyone ordered similar buttons in china ?
thx mike

Mike - I replaced all my buttons with NOS. If you want the old ones let me know. The lockdown bar will need the holes and you’ll need to make sure you have the membrane switch as well. I only have the buttons. Let me know if these will help you out. They are intact but the writing is rubbed off. The white button is a little discolored as well but they are better than nothing.

Quoted from Ericpinballfan:

No offence to brother #Silverunicorn.
I have a spare whole lockdown bar if you need one. Its the shipping to Austria thats tricky and expensive.

No offense at all. If you have a complete assembly that's probably better than just the buttons

Quoted from 72Devilz:

I changed up the lighting on the Roulette ramp since the LEDs weren’t getting the light through the numbers as I wanted so I cut some blister packing to bridge the gap over the shooter lane and was able to hot glue the LEDs right under the desired areas. Number 14 and 16 were a little tough due to the ball diverter but it’s not even noticeable.[quoted image][quoted image]

That looks really good! That ramp looks so nice all lit up like that, and it's not overdone. A+ to you!

Quoted from cv100:

Seeking thoughts on a RG LED display.
First image shows the typical connections (please disregard the ribbon cable coming across the front -- this was for testing only). Jackpot displays fine, Chips is dead.
Second image shows the chips output from the interconnect board going to the jackpot display -- chips value is displayed, which means the boards are functioning properly and *trying* to send the chips value to the display, but it's not showing.
Does this positively mean the 7-digit display is bad, or is there something else this could be?
Thanks.[quoted image][quoted image]

I'd guess that the cable is fine but rather the display is bad if it works on the other display.

Quoted from BertoDRINK1:

Going to shop out this RB this weekend and install Comet Sunlight Led's.
It came with a set of new lockdown buttons also. Are there any recommendations on protecting the text, should I tape them off and clear over the text? Seems like it will just rub off after a short amount of time.
[quoted image]

Definitely do something to protect them. I put a NOS set on ours and the red rubbed off a little with very slight home use.

Quoted from pghpinfan:

Anyone know where I can find a new set of these buttons?

Not sure actually. I got mine along with a NOS ramp that I got a few years back. Everyone shows them as out of stock now.

Quoted from pghpinfan:

Is the large roulette plastic as unobtanium as the red ramp?

I think that is just a decal. or do you mean the actual assembly? I don't have my Riverboat Gambler anymore, but hit up user EagleTG - he has it now and had many spare parts (including a NOS red ramp and a decent used red ramp) as well as NOS decals. Not sure he'd want to part with them but I know they are there. LOL

Quoted from Golgotha:

My Riverboat plays awesome. The only thing that stumps me is that during game play all sounds work perfectly. When game is in attract mode just sitting. The light show works but there is no music. The Adjustment 31 Attract mode sounds is turned on, however no sounds are made until you coin up. Any help? I am adding an amazing topper. I will post pictures when complete (hopefully tonight!)
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Ours did that too. No attract mode sounds even though it was set to do so. My Bad Cats is the same way

That looks fantastic! When I had my machine I was lucky enough to find NOS buttons (and a NOS red ramp). Put the buttons in and probably within 50 plays or so some of the gold writing came off. Should have cleared them before installation.

Your solution looks really good.

Quoted from archimandrite:

Yikes! The thread come alive. In the meantime I unlooped the rubber from the center post and I'm satisfied with the results.
Moving on, is this item a rarity, or do lots of people have them? The flip side is Mata Hari. It's actually in pristine condition. The apparent cracks are artifacts of the plastic wrap and/or my camera.
[quoted image]

I've not seen one of those ever.

Pretty cool!

Quoted from AlexRogan84:

Hey guys... I have a Riverboat Gambler for sale near me and am considering getting it. Or at least going to look at it closer and make a good decision.
Besides checking all lights, switches and features to see if they are working, are there any other known problem areas I should be aware of? And is it safe to assume that the unique plastics and ramps are no longer available for purchase? The game I am going to see has a few chips and cracks that are likely more cosmetic than ones that affect gameplay, but thought I would ask about whether replacements can be found or not before I get too commited.
Thanks!!

To my knowledge I am not aware of reproduction plastics set for this machine. Make sure the large red ramp is in good shape as they are almost unobtainable. The lockdown bar buttons will likely have the writing rubbed off, but again, those are almost impossible to find. A few years back I happened upon a NOS red ramp and NOS lockbar buttons. They weren't cheap but you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.

It is a really fun game with good ramp shots and some really nice shots. Great bumper action too.

Good luck!

Quoted from JodyG:

I am in the process of acquiring a full set of Riverboat Gambler ramps that happened to become available to me. I have had an above average number of requests for this one over the years, and I am considering actually doing this project now if demand allows it.
The big red ramp is a pretty large undertaking, but I think I can probably pull it off. I am not totally sure on making them red though...the best I can do is spray paint the underside, or sell them as clear pieces and let the end user decide to paint them or keep them clear. Originally, they were probably pre-painted pieces of plastic which were painted with a printing process somehow before forming. The biggest problem with spray painting is getting them evenly painted underneath- which will show up if there are any lights underneath them. I am not very familiar with the game, so maybe someone in this thread would be able to answer that part. No lights under the ramp make this a better probability.
Is there demand for the two side ramps? These are much easier to reproduce, but I also see some NOS ones floating around out there still. NOS ones are going to be much more brittle than new though, as any clear plastic that old will be no matter how they were stored or taken care of.
Ideally, I would like to see 10 pieces of the back ramp committed to before I commit to doing the job...its going to be a big mold. It seems like a low number, but I know a few distributors I deal with will take a few as well on top of that. The big ramp will most likely be in the $225 to $250 range with new flaps installed.
Chime in here or shoot me a PM if this project interests you.
Thanks!

That's a great price for that red ramp. Hopefully you can get these made. It's a pretty intricate ramp and has been unavailable for quite some time.

I no longer have a riverboat gambler, and I had a NOS ramp for mine, but I bet there are many whos ramps are pretty bad at this point.

Great that this project may come to light!
