Can some one scan the roulette wheel in the backbox? Mine has a crappy sticker reprinted on a home computer long ago. I want to make a nice one.
Quoted from mrossman5:Could anyone take a picture of the adjustments section of the manual?

I have a spare decal for roulette wheel, PM if interested. This one is from Marcos, probably 4 years ago at this point.
Quoted from mrossman5:Also, is there any difference from L-2 and L-3 Revisions?
L-3 was final revision. I swapped to it after a year or so and noticed no difference.
Having an issue with my Riverboat. Wheel is pretty inaccurate. It seems to lag a little behind and usually gives the wrong color. Game gives “wheel error” message. Any help is appreciated.

I just joined the club a few weeks ago! I had never seen nor played Riverboat Gambler when I decided to buy it. It's quite a fun game! Dare I say it's rather easy, though.
I've had to set the game to Hard, and I also turned on the 'Bust' target to activate every time Blackjack is lit instead of the default being inactive the first time around. The thrill of getting 21 is more fun with the Bust card lit! And it also makes the multi ball more useful, because the Bust target is inactive during multi ball.
5-Card is definitely the hardest goal of the lot. And when set on Hard, any held cards (lit solid) are reduced to flashing when a ball is lost.
I need to learn a bit more about the value of chips and the jackpot scores etc so I know when I should be passing or betting on a jackpot. I had a game today where I spelled CASINO 2.5 times but my score was a measly 13M because I didn't win any jackpots! A few nights ago I had a game where I only spelled CASINO 1.5 times but earned two jackpots and got a score of 30M which is the current GC on my game.
I like the different ways to earn an extra ball (the CHIPS targets being my favourite — being a kind of an early SS concept).
I also rather enjoy the different take on the switchable inlane rollovers. The way the game feeds the ball to the inlanes after the rollovers means that extra twitch reflexes required to light an inlane rollover insert while also nudging to save a ball! The only way to get them reliably is to Shatz (if you've got the stones for it!). Shatzing to lower the slot ramp is a pretty worthwhile risk IMO. That's how I get 5-Card. Shatz the slot insert, hit the slot machine, hold onto one of the two balls on the right flipper, and shoot for the right ramp repeatedly to earn cards — all with no risk of ending your ball.

I really wish that spelling “casino” was worth more. You work so hard to spell it and get barely any points for it.

True! I’m more of a narrative/goal-oriented player than a score-oriented one so I don’t mind too much. I like to complete objectives rather than optimise gameplay for the highest score.
If anybody could help him, it would be greatly appreciated.

The mind games when playing roulette can be crazy sometimes! I had a game where I reached the roulette jackpot four times and bombed each time. Each time I bet black, and each time I bombed I thought "If I bet red next time it'll be black, so I have to stick with black!". Sure enough, red/green each time. Never got the jackpot :S
I spelled Casino twice, though. So it was still a fun game.

That my friend is why this game is so awesome!

Very true!
I've decided to practice Shatzing the right inlane so I can drop the slot machine ramp on demand to start Two-Ball mode and quickly rebuild the Win Meter.
I have a brand new center drop target plastic that I'm placing in marketplace for $15 including shipping.
Just smashed my high score!
I was primarily going for CASINO (which I regard as being a much more fun objective than only going for jackpots). Completed CASINO 3 times (my new record) and got a score of 54.9mil. Hard settings (which is also more fun where your spotted cards are at stake every ball, unless held, and the Bust card is active when going for Blackjack). I got 4 3–4 mil jackpots.

Great score!!
Hay to all you Norcal, and northern nevada Lake Tahoe vacationers,at the Tahoe Seasons resort, right across from Heavenly Ski area,at the arcade there is a RBG! played a lot on our vacation there this summer! Also a arcade at Harolds club, but didn't get there!!
Just joined the club with a nice example that plays great and just needs a few parts and a cleanup. I found one very strange thing the first time I raised the playfield, several pages of the New York Times dated April 30, 1991 were inserted between the speaker and the grille. The date is right around the time of manufacture, maybe someone was having fun on the assembly line? Anyone else's RG have this?

Interesting, someone couldn't find the volume knob?
Quoted from Ericpinballfan:Interesting, someone couldn't find the volume knob?
You know, it's quite possible that that's the reason....this thing is LOUD. I turned the pot down all the way, and should get no sound at all, but it's still LOUD. Obviously that's not right.
Quoted from Ericpinballfan:Thats a really hard gate to get to unless red ramp is off.
Yeah, sorry, you can see from the photo that mine is missing entirely.
Quoted from jibmums:Yeah, sorry, you can see from the photo that mine is missing entirely.
Hmmmm, played another one last night and the gate's wireform was missing from that one too, as well as in several photos of other machines in this thread. Maybe some games were delivered with it, and some without?
I bought my RBG last summer and moved it across the state. When setting it back up, I remember removing the backglass to bolt the head to the body. I must have locked the backglass lock too and now can’t get it open. The key fits in the lock but won’t turn. I tried spraying air in it and jiggling the key, but no go. The lock has a small metal plate under it with two small slotted screws holding it in. It would be easy enough to remove but I worry about metal parts from whatever lock bar is inside falling and scratching the back of the backglass. Any ideas?

Well, the good.news is that there is 2 slotted screws there. I would try taking those out. See if you can wiggle plate and remove, try with key installed. Second, sure you have the right key? Third, you can drill out and have someone hold a vacuum for you. Use a carbide bit and go very slow.
I found the missing backbox keys and got it open so all turned out well. I recently won a Pin Stadium setup in a drawing from TWIP on Facebook and installed it last weekend. What a great upgrade! I turned down the white brightness to 60% and the colors at either green or yellow. Here are photos of the setup with the Invisi-Shields installed. The thin mounting magnets easily cleared the sides of the playfield when I lifted it.

Here is a photo with both the overhead lights and Pin Stadium lights lit. I can now play wothout the overhead lights on, which is almost like having Invisiglass because there is no overhead glare on the playfield glass.

Looks very nice!
Just wondering about removing large red ramp. What a pain. I’m down to just the up down left flap which is bolted to bracket that goes under pf. Best way to get this out of the way ?
If anyone happens to have their apron off at the moment, do you think you could make a high-res scan of the center section so I can redo the artwork? My apron is in great shape except for that middle part, where quite a bit of the printing somehow got worn off, and I'd like to recreate it as a decal. Thanks!

I just swung it up and taped it to the 777/slot machine plastic with some painter's tape to keep it from falling back down.

While I'm thinking of it.....what is the white button used for? I see red, black, and green on the roulette wheel, but no white. Is this just a dummy button?
Thanks. Trying to see what slot machine plastic you mean.
Also on the right ramp the black diverter that pivots mine pulls right out so I am thinking I am missing something that holds it to a coil

The plastic is the one with a picture of a slot machine that's mounted at an angle on top of the red ramp.
Underneath the playfield there should be a crank arm attached to the diverter shaft with a set screw, and a spring assembly that attaches it to the solenoid.

Wow I may be missing that whole assembly. I know on WHirlwind they are impossible to find. Are these avail?

Crank arm from Action Pinball, I just got one myself. Spring/plunger assembly is at Marco. The base plate I might have seen in Europe or Australia, you'll have to track that one down but it's going to be tough to find.

that may be all i need thx!
Posting this on here and sys 11 thread. Need some help with riverboat gambler...boards all serviced. Game now boots and plays and GI all fixed.
I think I am down to 3 issues:
1) The roulette wheel does not spin
2) Up/down ramp is always up
3) THe right black plastic diverter does not seem to move both ways. It opnes when you cant play roulette but cant close when you are supposed to( you can move it by hand though).
I hate the tests in these older games...coils all seem to have no loose wires.
Any help on these would be great.
