We just got or bat covers from Laseriffic and we are about to order some superbands too-
I'm off to the Print shop tomorrow to hopefully clear up some Jaundiced Riverboat riders so the final art can be printed.
have to agree, this pin doesn't get the credit it deserves ! lots of fun to play. Still have some work to do on mine but coming along nicely, and the price was right
Just started buying machines 3 months ago. Went crazy and bought 9. A beautiful RBG was one of them. Knew nothing about the game but I love it now. The theme is perfect.(gambled all my life). One thing about it, that ball literally flies around the playfield. Airborne alot. Is this normal,or is there adjusting that needs to be done? Nice to know I own a machine others like.
Cornfree,
I have noticed that once I clean and wax the play field the ball tends to fly all over the place and get airborne. It subsides after playing it for a while. Not sure if there is an adjustment to minimize that, or at least I haven't found one. I have mine tilted at approximately 6 1\2 degrees, maybe tilting it a little less may help?
I'll give that a shot thanks. I recently got 14million on this game, what are some of the high scores out there?
Nice work MikeMaynard.
did you do the artwork for the cabinet?
we ended up painting our legs and coin door antique brass as the machine was sitting in a barn and was rusted out.
my very first pin! great game, the only downside I found at the time was the randomness of the roulette, but otherwise good package.. I miss it sometimes
I don't know the randomness of the roulette wheel makes it a lot like real roulette, its part of the games charm
here is a video of our riverboat gambler with the LEDS in all lamp mode, halfway through it switches to big guns so don't watch that part
Card carrying member. spelling C-A-S-I-N-O for two mil is tough and satisfying. I once put up 33million.
Great score. I've only spelled casino once in 2 months. Were the colors spelled out like that originally? Mine are blank. That looks nice.
New to the hobby, so sorry if these questions are lame. Where do you get the led's? Do you buy different colors and just see what looks good?
We do try out different bulbs we get ours from http://www.cometpinball.com/ he very often comes to the shows in our area also so we can save on shipping. (Art is a great guy)
The color changers in the pop bumpers are awesome- we are waiting on a new four target opto to get Riverboat sailing again.
C-A-S-I-N-O was led color matched to the colored ring on the pf, 'warm white' matches white and 'natural white' matches light blue.
Does anyone have any plastics for this machine. in particular center drop target & slingshot plastics. Red ramp also would be nice.
Thanks. Dave.
I have always thought that this machine would look so cool with gold(brass plated) trimmings. EG: lockdown bar, legs. Side rails, Flippers & flip buttons
Can't find them easy, but there are plastic protectors for RBG if you look- we are missing the far left plastic for the ball return some other plastic is there instead...
Good Luck-
had local print shop remake the translite and print directly on the glass, here is the finished product with the old translite. Photo did not come out very good will retake tomorrow with better camera
here is the old translite with the damage that was done to it, missing paint and faded, the red look pink

The new translite printed directly on the glass (will post a better photo tomorrow) no faded colors and red look red again instead of pink
So any one put super bands on their RBG yet?
what mods have you done to your machine?
we had a new back glass printed and put LED in the back glass, GI, under inserts, plus color changing LED's in the pop bumpers that look awesome. Will be replacing them soon with slow changing LED's instead of fast changing.
So anyone else having an issue with their riverboat gambler beating the tar out of their balls? I just put a new set of balls in mine about two weeks ago and they are already scratched up bad.
I put red superbands on mine and I love them. And mine doesn't scratch the balls up, idk what that is from.
I am going to be gluing real casino chips to some of the ramps in my Riverboat Gambler. Will post photos when it is done
I am joining this club, great machine. how can you not enjoy riding that Lucky River Boat! Spelling CASINO is quite the challenge!
Does anybody have a spare slot machine plastic that sits on the left top of the playfield? Mine is missing...
So I have an opportunity to pick up this table. This would be my first pinball machine ever and I was wondering what kind of issues com up with this machine and what to look for when buying one. the pics attached are what the seller sent me
20140727_180345.jpg 20140806_075531.jpg 20140806_075548.jpgFor starters...it's a diamond plate. That's a plus. They didn't make many of them.
Look for cabinet fade in the word GAMBLER.
Check the red ramp for breakage. Those ramps are VERY hard to come by.
Translites are hard to find as well.
I love my Riverboat. It won't be going anywhere. It really is an under-rated game, IMO.
Plastics look like the are in decent shape, that is usually what is broken on these machines. the plastic on top of the five drop down targets in the middle of the field is broken, pretty common and imposible to find. Looks like there is some bubbling of the mylar, again common for this game.
the switch under the green, black, white and red buttons can be bad, cost about 60 bucks for a new one and not hard to replace. Hard to say from these photos the over all condition. You really want to see it in person however, you need to get good photos from under the play field and behind the back glass. Look for burned out headers, acid damage from batteries not being replaced in the back board. also, burned out coils in the flippers
what is he asking for it? I picked one up about a year ago in pretty rough condition that needed a lot of work for 600 bucks. Remember, condition is key. Having said that, one in great condition usually goes for about 1500 dollar but that in one in top notch condition with no cabnet fade, not major issues and a playfield in top shape
He isn't asking anything for it, I am trading my Wurlitzer jukebox and some cash from him for it He also has a Medusa, Austin Powers, Popeye, and Fire. I would love them all but i only have room for one
If you live close by I would recommend going there and playing the games. Riverboat gambler is a fun game, but you might like one of the other ones better. I would recommend playing each game for at least 10 to 15 minutes to get a feel for it. Also, that would be a grea time to check out the condition and look under the hood.
Sounds like a great deal, just remember every machine of that age needs some TLC. Good Luck

Here is a mod I made for my RG
Each card on the topper lights up when the same card lights on the playfield.

That's awesome!

I like the casino chips its a nice touch.
Here is the topper I had Laseriffic make for me. I have had mine since 97' First pin and it still gets turned on a lot.
Nice looking RG
I really like mine. It's an under-rated game.
I really like the artwork...playfileld, backglass, and cabinet all look great.
And the best part...it's really fun to play.
Fellas: picking up a diamond plate RBG this weekend. Pumped!
It has no leds and needs them! I love tnts led layout here:
I like how they color matched the CASINO lights.
Anyone know a kit that came out like tnts?
I just picked one up a few weeks ago, I'm pretty sure it was MikeMaynards, actually. I was wondering, when the ramp drops to access the slot machine, is the ramp supposed to go all the way down to the playfield? Mine hangs about 1/4" off the playfield. I can still make the shot, and I checked the mechanism under the playfield and it seems to be working correctly.
Yes, The ramp should lower to the playfield and metal flap lays on field. Try checking the nut that holds the arm, it can loosen and bind, causing the ramp to not go all the way down. Also, that metal ramp arm is one of the lube points for this game, white grease or such at base closest to the coil, not the nut upper playfield end. Drop target mechs also get lube.
Love this club, I'm in. Had mine about a year. Many mods, I will snap more pics and post here.
