Title says it all. Go!

#2 6 months ago

Because pinside is littered with so many useless threads about it?

if the theme, designer, company, artwork, sounds, layout, rules, animations, etc, etc are things that give you a warm fuzzy feeling, that would indicate that you like it. if you feel none of these, then you probably don't like it.

nothing anyone says here is going to convince you that you "like it," unless unneeded praise and admiration from other people typing from behind their keyboards is what you are really looking for.

At first I thought you were talking about JJP. Thats the root disappointment for this title.

You will hate it, buy stranger things

No servos in this machine like acnc that constantly break due to bad design.

never seen an episode in my life. most likely still wont watch the cartoon. i dont have the time to binge watch anything. bought a RM cause i needed a change when it comes to my last few purchases. pin looks nice imho. i felt even if i didnt like it the most i would lose over a few month playing it is 500.00 if i resold it.
hoping it lives up the hype. off to the next RM thread.

I’m excited for the combination of a great theme with thenotrashcougar’s design. TNA is far and away the most popular game at my place with guests because of how fast it plays. I’m excited to have another game that plays fast and furious.

What's your other game at your place? Mario Andretti?

I’ve got TWD, Deadpool, Beatles and Metallica. For whatever reason, guests love that the balls fires out of the scoop so fast and the single pop bumper keeps them in their toes.

Please excuse my ignorance here, what’s a servo?

They don't have Google in your neck of the web?

"A servomotor is a rotary actuator or linear actuator that allows for precise control of angular or linear position, velocity and acceleration. It consists of a suitable motor coupled to a sensor for position feedback"

Because nobody has seen it in person or played it yet! Duh!

Dumbed down, it's a motor that a computer can control precisely, not just turn on and off.

Edit: dumbed down is just a phrase, not to be taken personally.

You should not to be honest.

You have really different taste in games than what Rick and Morty offers. I honestly don’t think you would get what the game is.

Outside of that, we dont need you as eligible to post In the club thread.

Granted, you love to troll and complain. Purchasing it would be the ultimate troll.

Great opportunity to discuss the nuance of a new game. I'm out.

Appreciate it!

Some questions. Are they unusual in pinball? Is ACNC unique in using them (saw someone complain about this)? What do other manufacturers use in their machines, as opposed to the servos in ACNC?

#23 6 months ago

I have not seen the cartoon its based on, so don't ask me.

They were unusual to use until spooky. I think they have figured out to stop using them at this point. They really aren't durable enough for pinball use. Other companies use motors with relays to control them.

You should like it because...

1. Unique layout. Something different from the usual Stern cookie-cutting fan layouts (Elwin excepted).
2. Passion project for Scott Danesi - you know this game will provide a viscerally fun play experience.
3. Sounds, music, and light-shows by Scott Danesi.
4. Direct involvement and callouts by show creator - full access to all assets.
5. Extremely adult content!
6. Quality playfields and top-notch backing by Spooky.

You might not like it because...

1. Not a cookie cutter Stern game and that's all you can handle.
2. Extremely adult content - though claim there will be a family mode.
3. If you hate the theme.
4. You are dead inside.

#26 6 months ago

No one can truly say because nobody has actually played it.

#27 6 months ago

Because your a dirtbag.

#30 6 months ago

1 Its Rick and Morty!!!
2 They got Justin Roiland
3 Adult content
4 Unique layout / lock mech with multiple functions (Trump voice: "THIS IS GOING TO BE HUGE")
5 Great art/BSE cab looks great
6 Going to be a Mod Feast!! (we know how most of us like mods)

Reliable servos are too expensive, I think.

Data East used a servo in Tommy. Its original application was for a radio controlled model airplane.
The causes of failure of the servo were:
1) the plastic gear train when an operator/owner was trying to rotate the arm while under power would fail
2) the electronics inside the servo would fail due to vibration.
A low cost Airtronics servo was used with a plastic arm. The arm could fail too.

Also the driver card would fail, It would position the servo as needed and could adjust the end of travel (rotation).

Today you can purchase servos with 5 to 10 time the torque and metal gears. But they wont cost $8.00 retail.

The picture is a servo and arm assembly I made for the Tommy pinball machine
