Ok - it’s pretty simple.

Spooky are making 750 machines. It’s a number they are comfortable making. They don’t want people waiting 2 years to get their machine.

All 750 machines are the same playfield and gameplay.

If you want to become a Fang Club member, you get an earlier opportunity to buy one of the 750 machines. You also have the choice to upgrade your machine to a Fang Club Edition for $500 (ish) which will be the same game, with upgraded armour and maybe some other trinkets.

Spooky are clever enough not to sell 1000 Fang Club memberships - or the shit would hit the fan.

PS I have 9 people on the list for R&M in New Zealand. I can’t think of any other new pin that sold more than that down here, outside of Metallica and AC/DC.

Quoted from newtoit:

i joined the fang club do i need a distributor too?

Quoted from floyd1977:

Now I guess I need to "get in" with someone.

No.

You can order direct with Spooky if you want.

Over to you.

What I like about Spooky/Danesi - they play older games in great collections like BangerJays, play dollar games on them, so they are well versed in classic game design .. they know what works and what’s fun.

Like inline drops and exposed pops. All the classic elements from the great solid state games.

And they’re not afraid to take some chances ... and not just churn out the same cookie cutter shit all the time.

That’s why they get my money.

Single pops are awesome, Meteor, Cyclops, Paragon, TNA, Stars, etc, etc.

Yes they are.

can someone remind me how fast did ACNC sell out??

Why?

It’s a totally different game.

Quoted from donkadelic:

...but still woulda been nice if something were accomplished while bricking.

So you think you should be rewarded for missing your shots?

Interesting concept ....

Quoted from seenev:

What is all that cost for if not to development and produce some new stuff?

Have you ever had tooling made up to produce things?

I’m guessing not. It costs a shitload.

The only way it is viable is to make 10,000s of parts and spread the initial cost across them all.

Doesn’t work for 750 items. Unless you want a $150 per each plastic spaceship.

rd

Quoted from kermit24:

Or charge $750 for a topper.

Don’t get me started on that ...

Quoted from o-din:

I've been practicing for that on No Fear. Gonna give it a few loops tonight.

Keep practicing buddy ... we will be at your house tomorrow night! At Auckland airport ready to go.

The worlds #1 woman pinball player is cranked up and ready to take on the Big Daddy challenge again!

I’ll bring the beers.

Quoted from Jackster:

Figure 250-300 going overseas.

My guess would be more likely 50.

There isn’t a distributor network outside North America.

If anyone overseas wanted one, either they had to get online with the rest of the BSE crowd, or live in New Zealand where the switched on dude who does Spooky there got a 6 game allowance before we started.

Spooky might want to chime in with some numbers maybe ... but my guess is that 90% plus of the machines will remain in the US/Canada.

Sound effects for the win!

Final payment mailed

<checks phone>

It’s 2020! You still use checks? And mail?

New Zealand banks don’t even make checks anymore ... nobody uses them.

rd

Quoted from The_Casual:

New Zealand has a population of like 10 people.

Then if we can work it out ...

Quoted from tiltmonster:

Hmm, well that would be great if I didnt have to pay my quarterly taxes or school taxes...

I pay the NZ IRS any tax payment needed straight out of my bank account in 20 seconds. They always get it. No checks get lost in the mail. No moron enters the wrong number at their office.

Everyone has a bank account. Bank transfers are simple.

rd

Quoted from Cantabkiwi:

Wow, 10 people in NZ. So that’s nearly all the population getting a Rick and Morty pinball.
Nice work on that RotaDave

I try my best ...

Quoted from Rarehero:

Then when Dave said X-Men is the best Stern I skipped the F out of that segment lol

I did that just for you.

By the way, check out this awesome Christmas present that I just found in my kitchen.

Done by Brad Albright, who did the art for my Led Zeppelin pinball.

Everyone go buy some art from him!

And also vote for him in “best rookie” in the TWIPYS.

Quoted from screaminr:

Magna save can be used a little or a lot depending on how much charge it has

As Jay said above, this was pretty common on the 80s Williams machines. Off the top of my head, Jungle Lord, Solar Fire, Pharaoh and Grand Lizard had this.

You can build the charge back up by hitting targets on the playfield.

Quoted from toyotaboy:

I don't want to see video until the playfield is 100% final, and the code is at a decent spot. I want the first impression to be good.

So does Spooky.

Good things take time.

Butter may help resale

Nope!

Hey - it looks great (but even the standard spooky decals do..) but if you sell it, don’t be expecting to get much of your $1000 back.

Same as most mods.

Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, and Scott Danesi?

Honestly ... after owning pinball machines for 30 years, I don’t get impressed by much these days.

But the theme integration and the audio/visual of the game in that video is amazing. The video in that Whirly Dirly mode was awesome.

“Godddamn Morty you little piece of shit!!” Classic.

And this is the launch code ....

Quoted from rai:

How about Bowen he's one of the best players in the world and he can't make the shot she called for.
She's like 'can you make any shot I want?'
He's like 'sure' then brick city

You go on live TV/Stream and let see how many shots you make.

It’s nerve racking. No matter who you are.

how much your balls bounce

Comes down to how old you are.

They get pretty dangly when you’re a pensioner...

“Dangly balls yo!”

Quoted from pinballinreno:

Im commited to the $500 of fixes and bulletproofing, just to play it and maybe make it stable.

Huh?

What do you need to spend $500 bucks on?

Maybe a $1 post on the side rail in front of the apron, on the off chance a ball goes down there. And install the revised flipper bushings if your games hasn’t got any.

DNO could chime in, he has one on location and would advise on what’s needed.

Whysnow too, but I don’t think he can post here anymore.
