I'm holding off...Haunted House Party will be way better than this crap!

Looks to be a quirky, fun game. Rick & Morty, dudes! With original callouts.Loads of great shots and flow.
I think the BS edition with the purple will look much better in person.
Anybody want to buy a collector's grade Twilight Zone?
I got butter for ACNC. It's stunning. But for this one I'm going to pass. Depends on how crazy you are for the artwork and if it will actually be visible in your arcade.
Quoted from AFM95:I'm trying to understand how he sold out - as everyone has an opportunity for the BSE if you are a fang club member.
He probably sold out for his alotment. Man, this title is selling thru faster than I thought it would...
Quoted from RandomGuyOffCL:I have one in my spooky cart...does that lock it up?
probably not...
Quoted from GorillaBiscuits:Congrats Spooky! And extra congrats to whoever I know that snagged one so I can come over and flip it! Had my finger on the trigger but really need to put the brakes on anything new for a while.
As I said before, Patrick, you are always welcome in Waterloo ON Canuck-land. But come between May and September...it f-ing sucks up here the rest of the year...
Quoted from Luckydogg420:Hey, my name is patrick and I live in ontario...
then you know the weather sucks!
Quoted from Mrawesome44:Lets be real the only reason Joe offered people the chance to upgrade is because he gets a bigger kickback for every BS sold plain and simple. He isn't doing it out of the goodness of his heart. These games went on sale Monday the 16th and he says people can switch up to the 30th. So theoretically Standard owners got 2 weeks to decide if they wanted to switch. I don't think holding everyone up for people that knew way ahead of time the difference between the 2 and paid for a standard is right but hey the almighty dollar wins yet again. At this point i'm looking forward to the next post he writes saying there's another delay giving numbers out.
[quoted image]
I disagree. Joe is as solid as they come, I have dealt with him many times -- in person. I am pretty sure his other businesses are the way he actually makes money. I don't get the impression there is a great deal of actual bottom-line profit in the pinball stuff.
The numbers are probably a cluster fuck of organization, it's the Christmas holidays and he probably has lots of family stuff like we all do...and he's had his balls busted by his emergency last week.
Quoted from drfrightner:I have to say it... Spooky vs Stern. New game vs new game. Who wins Rick and Morty or Stranger Things.
First off we all have to admit Stranger Things is a much bigger license so Stern wins there. But if you're a fan of Stranger Things did Stern deliver the game you were hoping for? Did Spooky? After playing Stranger Things and just based on the videos for Rick and Morty... I think Spooky SLAYED the dragon.
I think if you're a fan of Rick and Morty you're ecstatic about the pinball game. Spooky knocked a home run and made the Rick and Morty fans overjoyed. If you're a fan of Stranger Things, you're now probably wishing Spooky had the license because Stern laid an egg. Stern likes to do this a lot... rain on someone's parade by releasing new code when another manufacturer releases their new game, or in this case a new game over the top of another new game.
They usually win... but Spooky did such a great job Stern loses big league. Congrats to Spooky you went head to head and won you're now a giant killer.
I think it's becoming increasingly clear that Stern is a corporate machine with a huge "automatic" market of distributors and operators while the smaller manufacturers like Spooky; JJP; American and (if they get rolling and stay in cashflow/business) Deeproot will increasingly be seen by hobbyists as the more "hands on" boutique specialists.
Stern is crushing it, sales-wise. Stern will always crush it, sales-wise. There are many pinball sales outside of we Pinside maniacs. But, to US...the small crowd of Pinside maniacs purchasing things like this 750 Rick & Morty and other niche titles....I think many of us are starting to back off on some Stern purchases due to their mass market/release it with unfinished code/low quality mentality.
To me, at the end of 2019, it's starting to feel like: do you want a Ford...or do you want a different kind of car with a bit more thought (and less corporate motivation) behind it?
Way to go, Spooky! Thanks for the topper!
This is my third machine from you guys, after TNA and ACNC. Thanks for the fantastic, immersive games. Solid builds, great artwork and sound/music. Great gameplay. Completely different feel and experience, one design to the next. And R&M will be another completely different design.
Not a "mass market" company, at all.
They care.
Quoted from Whysnow:I only comment since the club thread will be opening in less than 24hrs and this one can go full dumpster fire if needed
you are joking, right?
Stranger Things has sold <300 pros and <200 Premium/LEs from what I have been told.
The public tracked sites seem to corroborate that.
The pinball market is getting crowded, secondary prices are dropping big time on Stern resales, and they are still having major PR and QC issues.
5.6mil+ in sales is a huge dent in the overall pinball market. Talk to any distributor and they will tell you that last year models are sitting and new Sterns are awful (further evidenced by yet another ironman reboot and Stern distributors like GAP looking for additional $$$ by getting in and then flipping their allotment for a premium)
Stern pays close attention to all that is happening and they correctly understand that all other manufacturers are in the same space as them.
Very insightful, thanks for the insider information. I suspected this, but I was under the impression the market (demand) was still expanding. From what you're saying, it sounds like the pinball market hit its peak in early to mid 2019.
In that case, welcome to an oversaturated pinball marketplace!
The next 2 years are going to be *very* interesting...
Quoted from screaminr:I tend to agree , I find the rubber more controllable than silicone . When I didn't know what was what , I saw these cool looking blue and green " rubbers " in a display case at a pinball dealer . I just thought they looked cool and the colours matched my game . I have no idea if they are Titans , Super bands or whatever . My game alwaysed played fast , cos it's setup as steep as it will go . I had the flippers rebuilt the Playfield waxed and then I put the new bands on , and it played way too fast for me , so I went back to the black rubber on the flippers . The game is still super fast but it is a lot more controllable . Having said that , if I brought a game and it came with silicone on the flippers I would leave it as is because that's the way they want it .[quoted image][quoted image]
Those are super bands and they make things ZIPPY! I just waxed Shadow and BSD and with super bands they are even more brutal than normal! I like them, but to each his own. Some of my pinball friends do not like them.

Sure, a little rattling along the ball guide...Mine has never rejected.
I've just put a couple dozen plays on it, but here are some quick thoughts:
1. As others have said, GREAT theme integration!
2. The shots are unique. The shots will create an itch in your brain that makes you want to play again and again and you will want to scratch this itch! Up there with JP2 or TZ for funk factor on layout! And I mean this in a very good way.
3. All the shots work well on mine. The inner loop works well for initial entry (and - unlike the K-Man's experience, I usually hit it 3-5 times a game on average), but the ball occasionally gets stuck up top. It could be a bit more smooth for sure. I'll play a bit more and will tweak, as necessary.
4. As for overall MOJO score in the all-time category...it's a bit premature but I'm guessing this will end up as a solid second-tier game (i.e. ranked somewhere in the Top 30). It's fast, furious and Fun! ... and ya can't go wrong with the "Three F's" ! It's maybe not Twilight Zone or JP2 great, but certainly an excellent game. As a fan of the show, I'm extremely pleased with it.
