Quoted from o-din:

A thought has been going thru my head. I remember when South Park saved pinball soley on theme. For some reason, when I think about it, this is about the most excited about a theme as I have been since then.

And, Rick and Morty is already a much better game than South Park.

Quoted from Whysnow:

I thought maybe they would be delivering the first ones then?
Was hopeful for details today

I think expectations are way out of wack on this. They MAY ship a game or two by then, but everyone thinking they're shipping these to customers within 20 days is unrealistic.

Christmas 2019 in the teaser, simply means it will be shown by then.

Quoted from Whysnow:

good to know!
The teaser vid left me with lots of excitement and questions
So by Dec 25th we should see full package?

I truly haven't been this excited about a new game since TZ was new. Everything I've seen to date, has this game on track to being a smash hit. They've nailed everything!

Yes, full package, photos, video, flyer, and all details coming soon. This is what Christmas 2019 refers to. Not games shipping.

So there's no confusion for folks, you can get one of the first games through your distributor, but you will need to be a Fang Club Member whether you buy from Spooky or your distributor.

I'm also taking names for the Rick and Morty Pinball want to buy list... [email protected]

Quoted from chooch:

Whatever price they were considering likely just went up considering how people are tripping over each other to send money now without seeing any pics. Spooky was smart to put this little teaser out there to gauge interest. Everyone keeps saying 750 is not enough so they can pretty much charge whatever they want considering what Stern and JJP games cost.

Spooky doesn't work like that. They set a price based on their cost to make the game, not what the market will pay.

They've known the approximate cost for a long time now, and likely know what the MSRP will be, and it's not going to change from that.

They're just finalizing all the details before making everything public.

Quoted from j_m_:

this statement seems to contradict itself
do you actually mean that in order to purchase one direct from spooky that you need to be a fang club member? and if you want to purchase one from a distributor, you don't
inquiring minds want to know

You need to be a Fang Club member to purchase a Blood Sucker Edition.

You can buy either a standard, or Blood Sucker Edition from any Spooky distributor or directly from Spooky.

Quoted from SpookyCharlie:

Stern uses plastic switch mounts too..

Pretty sure I've said this to you before in person, but using Stern as a guide for quality of parts used in a game isn't a good idea. They have their issues too, and parts quality is right up there.

No doubt Spooky is improving everyday. And current production is leaps and bounds better than the first games. Can't ask for much more than that.

Quoted from zucot:

If you’re in the fang club does early access mean you buy direct through spooky or can you still use a distributor?

Fang Club gets you the option to buy the Blood Sucker Edition, and reserve your game two weeks early.

You can buy your games through whatever distributor you'd like, including Spooky directly.

Quoted from Shapeshifter:

Agree most of this.
However games are also being allocated to distributors so if there were 750 Fang Club members they would not all get games.
This is why I think being a Fang Club Member doesn't totally guarantee a game ( was told this directly ).
I think it would help if Spooky addressed this before it gets messy.

Rarehero summed it up pretty succinctly.

If there are more Fang Club members that want a game than the 750 available, then some will not get a game.

If all Fang Club members want a BSE, then all 750 games will be BSE.

Quoted from razorsedge:

Despite this, many many people will join understandably thinking this will secure them a game.
It should be made clearer that this membership does NOT (apparently) secure them a copy of RaM.

No one from Spooky, ever, anywhere, said, impied, or insinuated that being a member of the Fang Club secured them a game. *(Unless it was in reference to a specific member at a specific time before the number of memberships may have exceeded the number of games available)

One of the perks of the Fang Club is you get the chance to purchase a game two weeks before sales open up to non-Fang Club members.

If Fang Club members before you in line purchase all the available games, that sucks, but that's the way lines/waiting lists work.

Quoted from bent98:

What if any benefits are the distributors providing over buying direct other than access to their allotments?

Buying from a distributor gets you an extra layer of service and support, beyond Spooky themselves.

If your distributor is local (or travels the country) personal in home service is possible.

You may already have a relationship with a distributor, why not support them too.

There is no best way for everyone, they're all good options. Go with what works best for you.

Spooky will stand behind the game no matter where you purchase, as will the distributors.

Thanks! Is that a Spooky-only design, or common on other new games? I've worked on dozens and dozens of games and rebuilt many drop targets but haven't encountered that design before. Then again, out of all the games I've worked on only a handful have been made this decade, oops.

It's a Williams WPC design.

Quoted from epthegeek:

Regarding the rules; It wouldn't be wise to get into too much detail right now, as things are still very likely to be changed and tweaked as we refine what works and what doesn't. In an overall sense, though, I can explain some of the larger pieces and concepts.
- The modes are 'adventures' and are what you'd expect from a mode based game for the most part. We'll have a handful of them in the game to start, but fully intend to add more as we go along. Yes, one of them is Pickle Rick.
- You can open a 'portal' in the garage to travel to other dimensions. In other dimensions, things about the game change. In one dimension, certain parts of the playfield may be worth more, or less. In another dimension, certain features may not work at all. Dimensional travel can happen any time. During adventures or multiballs -- doesn't matter.
- You'll want to visit other dimensions to harvest megaseeds. They don't exist in C-137, and they're very important.
We'll be working on the game for some time to come, of course, and we'll be cramming in as much content as we can possibly manage.

Quoted from RC_like_the_cola:

Good question. I hope so. I recall them saying it was a missed opportunity not having Danny Trejo's voice in pickle Rick mode. I would hope that Adult Swim and Spooky are allowed to use the Danny Trejo clips without paying additional royalties, since he was paid for his work already.

He was paid for his work to be in a cartoon series. He was not paid for work to be in a pinball machine. By the "he was paid for his work already" logic, AS could make dolls, video games, commercials, watches, apps, etc., with his voice, and not give him anything for it. It doesn't work like that.

I'm over the top estatic we have the two main characters (plus other Jutin voiced characters) of the show FULLY integrated with AWESOME custom speech and call outs. We haven't seen this kind of integration in a pinball machine in a very long time.

Here's a question... I noticed Spooky's flipper coils look like WMS blue dual-wound coils with the three lugs. Can anyone confirm that these are indeed dual wound, no buzz BLY/WMS -style coils?
Thx

R&M is using two lug, single wound coils.

Games before R&M used three lug, dual wound coils, but only used the power winding. The hold winding was not used. Hold is done by PWM, just like most other manufacturer's today.
