So you ordered in the first 10 online but you're 122. That means they are doing at least 100 distributor/friends up front. Then they're doing like 50 online, 100 distributor, 50 online. or something like that. Only way the numbers make sense here.

Everyone trying to read the tea leaves of their order number reminds of Get Schwifty, where people misinterpret the Cromulons and form a cult based on random weather phenomena.

#4853 4 years ago
Quoted from f3honda4me:

Ok that makes even less sense. People placed orders on the site before 7:13am and have higher machine numbers than you.

time zones man..time zones.

#4854 4 years ago
Quoted from guitarded:

I don't care when it gets here.
I'm gettin' a fucking Rick and Morty Pinball machine!

Same! Been rewatching from the start of season 1 and getting more pumped. Guess I will rewatch multiple times before my own game but that is cool.

Ok...please tell us how we're misinterpreting these numbers?

Does it matter? Have we reached the 'whiney I want it now' phase?

Multiverse.

I am sure Guitarded - C 139 got an earlier spot in line.

#4859 4 years ago

Everybody cancel your orders so I can get mine sooner....oh wait...

#4861 4 years ago

1875 @ 9:12am = 362.

#4862 4 years ago

Yea I figured that being one of the first people to get an order in on the website would mean mine would be a lower number (only one person reported lower?), and I would end up with a game in January... but I'm cool with 121 now. Maybe those kinks in production will be ironed out by then and they will really hit their stride by April\May.

Yes it matters if I receive a game in April or November. It may not matter to you, but it does to me.

I’m 1804 and 130 so I’ll say the order number has relevance.

You are not misinterpreting. Just seems like you were looking for something to get frustrated with imho.

It seems lots of early games are going to distributors? Makes sense to have and build that relationship for all involved IME

Quoted from Zablon:

Not when sales were opened at 7:00am. I adjusted for time zone.

Wow that's crazy. That means there's like 100+ machines before any direct sales.

Quoted from scruffypinball:

Order numbers =/ spot in line.

Sorry but putting 100-200 machines in front of any direct orders isn't really whining, it's simply unfair.

or just go play a pin.

#4868 4 years ago

Waiting for lock when lit to provide me a build number. Come on rob make it a low one!

#4869 4 years ago

It's not only that, but theres like another 100 distributor games in between the first and second 50 online.

Right it's like 100 games, 50 direct, then anther 100 games, and then more direct. When you are getting a game 5 months later than what you had expected, people have a right to be upset.

Yes. Can't wait for buyers to complain that their order number doesn't correlate with what they think their actual number is.

You had no expectation. That's on you, no one EVER said that the order numbers said when you would get them. They actually said in the thread it didn't.

I think it is a matter of setting bad expectations for ourselves in that case.

Totally get being hopeful for an earlier game, but we all ordered And rolled the dice for when we would get in.

#4878 4 years ago

Well, damn. There went my cheerful optimism of getting in really, really early.

I am order #1790 - the earliest of the posters here on Pinside. As you'd probably guess from the folks coming after me, my game is #120.

I am still super excited about getting a game in a few months - it just is later than I was hopeful for going off the conversation here.

#4879 4 years ago

I’m a little disappointed. I went direct because I thought it was my best chance at getting an early build without having to be on a distributors good side.

A little more clarification in this process would be appreciated. Lot of confusion leading up to the sale.

No worries. Let the line work the kinks out and I’ll get mine after things are running smooth.

I do agree that the order process and how it was handled left a lot to be desired....that also goes for the reveal. If this game sucks, there's going to be a lot of upset people but I'm sure it will be worth it.

So, you go to a theme park or line up outside a store for that new iphone, and suddenly they decide for some reason, that they are going to start from the middle of the line instead of the front. That's cool? I'm just trying to understand the logic - this wasn't some kind of raffle system where your place in line doesn't matter. If that was the case, then spooky should have said so up front so people didn't bash their face in trying to order painfully through the website right at 9am central time.

Quoted from scorche:

See to me that's not right. Thinking you'd be in January cuz you were almost first in line only to find out oh just kidding 120 people and 3-4 months of machines ahead of you? Sorry, but that's wrong to do to your customers spooky.

I'm 1853 and haven't gotten my email yet. Now not sure I even want to.

I have zero problem waiting my turn in line, so long as the "turn" time is decided fairly and evenly to all. This is anything but.

#4889 4 years ago

I am with you, Zene10. Plus, everyone spells my name "Thomas". FFS, I just said "Thoms".

#4890 4 years ago

I'll play. Order#1908. Bought a standard. I'll be getting game #727.

Looks like I got some time to wait...Anyone have a Deadpool premium they want to sell?

You're gonna be like 339.

Now they're saying some people ordered 2, but nobody on here yet, and also if someone ordered 2 (why did you let them), shouldn't the 2nd one go to the back of the line? Pretty stupid if it doesn't since they're just an obvious reseller.

ALSO...that makes zero sense, look at the numbers, they go in order most of the time, there isn't like a space of 2 between order numbers ever even with a big gap. What BS!!!

#4893 4 years ago

IMO- I understand people being upset. There may have been some expectations assumed by us, maybe because of a lack of information provided, but I don’t really think anything false was put out there by Spooky. Complaining about it on here doesn’t help resolve the issue, because there are many who are very happen to get on the pin and they should be. If you feel you were wronged, mislead or just weren’t provided the information you should have been provided with your $7k plus purchase, than in the future just complain with your wallet and direct your monies elsewhere. I don’t thing anything is gonna change now.

So the expectation of simply being fair to direct and distributors evenly across the board is unreasonable or abnormal? That's what I'm trying to understand. Spooky can distribute these however they see fit, so long as they are up front about it. If they are going to do something abnormal like 100+ games to whomever, then to direct for 50, and then another 200 games to non direct, they should tell us first.

And now they've started lying to their customers saying 60 online orders were for multiples in the first 100....

1790 to 1794 is 3 machines
1794 to 1804 is 7 machines
1804 to 1818 is 13 machines

Where are the multiples???? What a joke!

I'm sorry but they're just straight lying about orders now to hide shoveling hundreds of distro orders out between 50 online?
