I’m thinking this theme and design team combination has the potential to be one of the most innovative rule sets ever! Really, there’s only so much you can do with physical layout and mechanical equipment in a standard, confined space. But we are in an era where rules and objectives can really push a game to new heights. The potential here is truly massive. That’s why after publicly declaring myself out, I rode the fence a bit in the early minutes of the sale but finally pulled the trigger and jumped in with both feet. I’m guessing mine will be one of the last bloodsucker games to come off the line. Hopefully that means the kinks will be all ironed out and the code deeply along by the time it arrives at my house. (Plus plenty of time to clear space and raise funds by selling off some games). Aw jeez...this is fun!

Yes, I am willing to learn all these fancy newfangled rulesets. Then I will destroy the competition.

#4603 4 years ago

Whaaaat?! You mean I popped my NIB cherry AND got thumbed up by Odin all at once? What’s happening?

#4604 4 years ago
Quoted from SilverBallz:

Am I the only one who ordered who’s never seen a full episode of rick and morty?

Just we two. I had to Google the name.

So I was at the local mall Christmas shopping and noticed this cool store called Box Lunch. I think it may be owned by Hot Topic. They had a whole Rick and Morty display with all sorts of stuff. A lot of pet clothing and toys strangely.

Was that blue Rick a "Soap on the rope"? Man, if it was I haven't seen one of those in ages! I would love a Rick soap on the rope to wash my plumbus with. Ha!

My daughter affectionately refers to that store as “Hot Topic for parents”. (Brighter, safer, less edgy”. If you ever see something you like there, get it, once it’s gone, it seems to be gone. We have 2 malls near us and they have some common things at each store, but several things only at one or the other.

Can we start a Rick and Morty club thread now?

What exactly is the “butter” cabinet? Is it the same art but just shiny? This is my first spooky purchase so I don’t know what to expect.

Anyone want to explain it for the 40th time for Jerry?

#4613 4 years ago

Someone explain it and I’ll key post it lol

From the Spooky ACNC email:

""Butter Edition" cabinet- Cabinets are hand dipped in rich colored inks (no decals), lovingly rolled in automotive clear coat protection, and buffed to shiny delicious perfection"

I was going to say co-op mode might not mean anything really for this pin (I mean ll guys on the same team) but team vs mode is fun. I like this on TNA and think it can translate for this pin as well.

Coop with one player as morty and the other as rick. Each has to complete certain tasks to finish the mode. Maybe like pingolf style objectives.

Loooooosssseeerrrrrr....

#4619 4 years ago

Well my deposit made it to my credit card, now lets see the email so I can see where I'm at in line before the bill comes in.
I sure hope I can see more behind me in line than in front me.

What number are you?

#4621 4 years ago

This may be a Jerry question, but does the “Butter” also coat the sides of the backbox? That would be butterific.

#4622 4 years ago
Quoted from J85M:

Artwork looks brilliant imo without characters slapped all over it, the playfield is done in the style of the show, creating the story of the game and it looks awesome when lit.
Star Wars on the other hand was completely uninspired and lacklustre especially for the theme.

The playfield does remind me of total nuclear annihilation.

Whispered in the wind.

I forgot about that one. Classic.

ok that made me feel old I love box lunch !! they have all of my favorites--- Disney, Harry Potter, Rick and Morty, Friends, Dr Who and tons more lol

Quoted from Hulkbuster:

I saw two butter cabinets last night, one TNA and one ACNC, and they look awesome.

I'm kinda tempted to go that route on this one.

It’s a complete splurge, but I would encourage at least one in a pinheads collection. I have a butter ACNC and love it!! It will make you want to polish the cab daily

Yes, Jerry.

I've been throwing all my money away since I got into this hobby anyway, so why change now?

#4629 4 years ago

I’m going the butter cabinet route for sure.
My birthday was the day before this went on sale and considering this a gift to myself.

This is my 3rd Spooky pin and I’m basically going full bore and decking it out.

Call it hype, call it FOMO, call it whatever you want, but I’m super excited about this game and feel like I’m taking part in something very special.

My birthday's on Super Bowl and all my teams are losers, so I may do that as well.

KT, send me an email with a low number.

#4633 4 years ago
Quoted from jonesjb:

What number are you?

Around 60ish, but a good accountant can get number lower.

#4634 4 years ago
Quoted from rotordave:

Have you ever had tooling made up to produce things?
I’m guessing not. It costs a shitload.
The only way it is viable is to make 10,000s of parts and spread the initial cost across them all.
Doesn’t work for 750 items. Unless you want a $150 per each plastic spaceship.
rd

You get it man... Now for the other 10,000.

I would seriously like to know the actual % of this game compared to amount sold as being a first time NIB for the buyers.
This is my first NIB.

99.9%, apparently.

I'm concerned my order number is low but I haven't gotten an e-mail yet

#4638 4 years ago

Also, there’s already 5 locked Rick and Morty club threads that have been started, lol

#4639 4 years ago

We have a location opening on May 1 in Northern VA and I had really hoped to try and get this in time for grand opening but given I'm sitting 1941 currently it's not looking at all promising. As we start to get actual numbers in line later this week I would be very interested in making it worth someone's time financially to swap for a lower number to be able to have it at launch if there are any folks out there that don't care about waiting a few extra months (big ask I know). Just putting that out there now.

Do actual order numbers mean anything? I got number 2012 and my order confirmation email 20 minutes after they started taking orders!

#4642 4 years ago
Quoted from marspinball:

Do actual order numbers mean anything? I got number 2012 and my order confirmation email 20 minutes after they started taking orders!

yes but only because it was first come first served. There is a predetermined production line-up split between direct orders from spooky and the distributors. Luke had said 50 direct, 50 distro but that may mean 10 week 1 go to direct 10 week 2 go to distro 10 week 3 go to direct 10 week 4 go to distro.

Game 1- 10 direct week 1
Game 11-20 distro week 2, etc

Someone who ordered from a distro said their distro had numbers in the teens, so it is more than likely like this but I would let someone from Spooky clarify as this is only speculation.

#4643 4 years ago
Quoted from jwilson:

If you guys are jonesing to make a mod, consider replacing the dome on the spaceship with a clear one, putting an angled mirror inside it and then have a screen sitting on the bottom of the ship pointing up. Pepper's Ghost.
Then you can have video of Rick and Morty in the ship. Have it react to things.

Did you incept me?

https://www.adafruit.com/product/910 is on the way to do just what you described. Figured go cheap before the OLED with LVDS route.

#4644 4 years ago

Can someone confirm or correct me if i am wrong, as i may of misunderstood this, but at 1:19 in the video showing the game, Charlie states that pickle rick is not shown on the production games but is in fact "hidden"..

Is he referring to the image of pickle rick on the playfield, meaning the playfield art will be different to what has been shown?

#4645 4 years ago
Quoted from Off2War:

Is he referring to the image of pickle rick on the playfield, meaning the playfield art will be different to what has been shown?

Yeah - That image of Pickle Rick will apparently not be on the Production Playfield.

#4646 4 years ago

I wonder why Pickle Rick taken off? They ever say?

#4647 4 years ago

Yea, they can correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounded like they hinted a few times that:

1. The art we've seen isn't final
2. The code is a long ways from done (which actually hopefully means they are open to some ideas that have been thrown around in this thread)
3. They are moving me to spot #1.

#4648 4 years ago
Quoted from johnnyutah:

I wonder why Pickle Rick taken off? They ever say?

It's not, somewhere buried in this this thead spooky said it just moved somewhere else.

#4649 4 years ago

What happened to the Rick and Morty gameplay video. Was there an issue why it was pulled ?

#4650 4 years ago
Quoted from guitarded:

Yeah - That image of Pickle Rick will apparently not be on the Production Playfield.

No, what was said is he is hidden. My guess is under the flipper, or under a playfield feature that moves.
