Quoted from Mitch:

Where did you find that shirt?
I really want it.

Target (Australia). They have a huge geek/pop culture section now.

Quoted from razorsedge:

Would people in the US still be fine with it, the affordability for a "chance", if it was US$95 ... like it is for us overseas?
The cost should have been averaged for everybody I think. US$60 no matter where you are.
Over seas we already pay a financial and time penalty, this seems to kinda give the tyrany of distance a boosting slap in the face.

I agree with you totally.Spookey can absorb any additional shipping cost or whatever the reason is to charge more for the out of country customers.Spooky should be making enough profit from US customers to easily absorb what my guess would be is around 4-5 thousand at the most.
I suppose if spooky put a reason for the price difference their may be a good reason for it.

Hey sorry if this were answered earlier but so many posts in this thread. Is this going to go live for Fang Club members on Christmas Day? Or we don't know yet? Thanks.

#1354 4 years ago

I think the consensus is that orders for Fang Members will go live on Christmas. If there are any left it will go live to the public 2 weeks after that. Don't hold me to it though, that is just what I have been hearing.

As far as all the negative club members it's easy, just say no and not join it.I don't think Spooky sat at a round table and said "How can we stick it to our customers".They have done what a lot of companies have not been able to do and build pinball machines and make a solid machine that is well built. From what I have read and seen from meeting then at shows,it is my opinion that is that love and appreciate people that have supported them in their mission and passion to build pinball machines. The fang club is just a way to bring those spooky fans together. and give them something to say "we appreciate our fans and customers". It will be interesting to see if they have machines available a year from now like they have Alice Cooper games available now. Also if one does not want to Join the club just call Kingpin or another vender and order one now.
It is impossible that they thought there would be this much interest and i'm thinking Stern and other manufacturers are going to be reassessing game themes and what age group they are targeting.750 units is a large number for a small company and a small number for companies like stern so mabie its to popular a theme for a smaller company to sell the demand? I suppose Jersey Jacks Pirates game could be used as a example of not enough on the market but one can still find them at a premium if they really want one. I am excited for the Spooky family to have a game that could put them to another level of manufacturing pins and recognition from non pinball people interested in this theme. This will be fun to see how it all turns out and if this is a game that thousands of people want, and there are only 750 of them out their ,well all I can say is congrats to the Spooky team.

100 percent agree. But, like Chris said, Stranger Things, Guns and Roses (or Toy Story), American pin 3, RAZA from Deep Root are expected to launch at the same time...750 may satisfy every serious buyer

#1358 4 years ago
Quoted from razorsedge:

So you agree it would be fairer if Everyone, including US, had paid $60 and subsidised Overseas Supporters, so that all got to pay the same priced membership?
That would have at least made the membership pricing a bit fairer I think.

Why should anyone subsidize your increased shipping costs because you live overseas?

#1359 4 years ago

As I've said before, I do not like Rick & Morty, but it is quite obvious these 750 are gonna fly off the shelf. Yes other companies are coming out with some heat titles, but none of them are Spooky & none of them have Scott Danesi. This game, with a theme I don't even like, interests me way more than any of the other titles coming up.

Danesi WILL knock this out of the park, if you think otherwise you're a fool.

So who’s watching tonight?

Quoted from Coindork:

Because $45 to join is sooooo much money.
You're literally talking about the price of a pizza and a case of beer.

You must eat gourmet pizza and drink premium beer.

#1362 4 years ago
Quoted from AFM95:

He did say “case “ , premium beer typically isn’t sold by the case .

Christ, some of you people have serious issues. Why not take all your fang club/waaa...they're only making 750 games bitching and start a separate thread to cry amongst yourselves.

Can we switch to talking about possible game modes and playfield features?

Quoted from flynnibus:

Why should anyone subsidize your increased shipping costs because you live overseas?

Why shouldn't everybody pay the same?

Nobody is more *entitled* than anyone else.

By your amusing theory someone in California should pay more for membership than someone in Wisconsin. That is dumb.

I am happy to support Spooky by joining the club, I must say... maybe If I had a money tree I wouldn't be raising the question of the alarming difference in price for a handfull international members.. I dunno.

I'm in the Fang Club since Friday already anyway, so I'm not raising it for my own concern.

#1366 4 years ago
Quoted from razorsedge:

Why shouldn't everybody pay the same?
Nobody is better than anyone else.

Would be terrible business for spooky. They’d sacrifice a ton of domestic sales for a smattering of overseas sales.

Really dumb idea.

Simple less shipping no paperwork..done. USA is better.. When i buy a Mercedes do i complain that the Germans pay less? No i dont. You just dont get it do you. Start a fun raiser in your town to raise the $95 just stop complaining about it.

Spooky pinball gets it.

Best thing they ever did was avoid Ben Heck after AMH and then luck into Scott Danesi.

#1373 4 years ago
Quoted from kermit24:

Because we are not socialist.

By this logic clearly Socialist within US, judging by the membership being averaged across the US ... $45 ....

But it is somehow not okay to do that globally? ... when as you say an insignificant quantity, means it could have been $50 for anyone on the planet, so that other parts of the world don't need to pay more than double, which is blown out of proportion anyway, as already pointed out.

When you finally work out the value of kangaroo feathers we will charge tripple for you to import them, okay?

First class postage USPS is pretty standard across the country. Priority Mail is even more standard.

Nevermind.

What you fail to realize is the scale of the cost. Shipping within the U.S. doesn't have much variance in the price (maybe a couple of bucks for them) while international rates are actually pretty expensive and varies wildly. And the reason to just do blanket U.S vs International rates is it is much easier and cheaper to do. If they charged based on the actual shipping rate, they would need to integrate in to a shipping system to get the current rates (development time I would rather they spend on pinballs). It would also change a lot. They also would not be able to say up front the actual price. This way they can give a good experience of "You are in this region, therefore it will be $X without needing to collect a bunch of information first

Back to the regularly scheduled thread.

Spooky's Rick and Morty Grand Champion call out.

That was a great episode. I wrapped up season 1 and heading into season two. Show is fantastic

My initial impression were way off. Show is hilarious

Quoted from Frax:

SWISH
That was the sound of it flying over everyone's head again. I'm going to stop clogging up this thread, because it's more effort to try to educate people to be smarter consumers than it's worth. It's okay. Everyone told me I was full of shit about Aliens and JJP's ever increasing prices being the start of ALL prices going up, and I got the last laugh there.
I got no issue with Spooky's model (aside from I wish there was more being built so I could get one later on at a reasonable price!), and this thread isn't the place to continue railing against vendor nepotism, so rest assured I'm done with that. Club away, or not...but don't do it just because some distro wants you to throw money to a company that benefits them.

You will be able to get one down the road at a discounted price .. most /all companys pins are cheaper down the road.... have you seen what you can get used spooky pins for ? Much cheaper..so just wait quietly and patiently and things will work out. Nothing's even been shown yet lol.

#1380 4 years ago

I’m fine with the Fang club, it’s only $45. What I don’t like is distributors already essentially selling their allotment. The fang club is a discouragement to buying through distro. I get the feeling, right or wrong, that I will get a better number in line with Spooky direct then whatever number a distro could give me right now because of how many distros have been marketing FOMO limited spots left posts

#1381 4 years ago

i just don’t see anything positive about the fact that i can’t complain yet. this is bullshit.

#1382 4 years ago
Quoted from AFM95:

You must eat gourmet pizza and drink premium beer.

If I’m going to eat and drink stuff that’s bad for me, it’s going to be top of the line. I suggest everyone adopt this philosophy. Do you really want to be on your deathbed and tell your grandchildren that papa johns and Budweiser were the death of you?On a side note, is there a big reveal date scheduled?

#1383 4 years ago

I think I broke the Rick and Morty topics.

Started a topic with a direct quote from S01E10

Topic locked in almost no time!

Ah, jeez Rick.

If "international" members just happen to be getting hypotheticaly one or two special secret extra nick-naks, swaggy pirks or decoder rings? .... well the Additional US$50 becomes fair and reasonable Extra Cost, even expected, you know to help make good efficient use of the super premium freight parcel expenses, and that, and what not. etc. ... ... even like being Glad to be paying the significantly more money! ... More Stuff! ..... wink, nudge lol

Actually for me the best decision was getting Bowen on the rules.

I don't have to worry if a game is going to be fun to play as Bowen totally gets what makes an addictive playing experience.

Just a thought, if you are whining about having to pay $45 or whatever to join a club, maybe a NIB pinball machine isnt in your budget?

$95

It is principle

I'm already in, to add to the collection.

Throwing money around on random stuff without question? ....

Maybe you *should* inform yourself better.

Aught means zero. As in, my Grandpa knocked up my grandma during the blizzard of aught nine.

The irony of this sentence is strong.

Depends what language you read it in. I supose I should have put one "T" in "better"? Lol

Hey look! .... there is an Adventure Card on the Playfield! , which 10 eps will they be? .... maybe talk about that?

#1395 4 years ago
Quoted from razorsedge:

Depends what language you read it in.

The only reason it was a problem is you were ragging on someone for not being informed, while at the same time demonstrating a lack of information about the basic rules of English, i.e. being uninformed in a different way yourself. It was very ironic, which made it funny.

Carry on.

Well most of the post was blatantly incorrect, completely uninformed and plain stupid. I'll correct it.

#1397 4 years ago

Any chance we can move on from - number of pins made , Fang Club , spelling and punctuation . I for one would rather hear about possible features , modes and Mechs .
In that spirit , one of my favourite episodes is Rick's car battery , maybe you could have a mode to keep Summer safe and maybe another to get the battery started again . Maybe juggling Rick for multiball ?

#1398 4 years ago

Can we please get back to Rick and Morty discussions?
Sick of seeing new posts and is just the same guy whining about international shipping. Hate to see how much he crys when he has to pay shipping on the actual game ( spoiler it will cost alot more then people in the states pay to ship it.)

#1399 4 years ago
Quoted from Mitch:

He will simply ask for all the US buyers to help his shipping costs.

I learned my lesson with TNA and ACNC.. I’ll wait, there will be some early adopters itching to sell their deposits for numerous reasons so no need for a fire drill to jump in. Too many good titles coming out in 2020 to worry about missing out. I’ll be a buyer, I’m just not going to play the hype game.
