Quoted from bangerjay:Never watched 24
Sorry, they already made the machine.
Quoted from NPO:This thread sure does show some of the worst toxicity that is prevalent through Pinside, and why some have greatly diminished being here and others have flat out left.
I have never seen one single episode of R&M. I'm happy for the fans. Why do some people HAVE to be assholes to people who are crazy excited about this upcoming title. Really, what does it benefit to be purposefully mean to someone just because it's something you either know nothing about or is "not your theme" ?
Just disgusting and virulent behavior.
This is how the internet works, just keep scrolling and don't worry about it.
Quoted from cait001:To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.
And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid
This isn’t real right?
Quoted from Aniraf:This isn’t real right?

Yeah, but I’ve never watched an episode, so why did they make it?

Did you say you never watched CSI either? How about X-Files? I ask as I haven't watched either of those or 24. I am starting to feel a bit deflated that I haven't... I can only wonder what I have been missing all of these years.

You made me look up virulent.
Quoted from trilogybeer:They made game of thrones , have you ever seen that ?
Three episodes!
Quoted from Bryan_Kelly:You made me look up virulent.
I was wondering if I shouldn't be allowed to watch Rick and Morty as I didn't know what it meant. But I was too embarrassed to say anything, thanks for stepping up. You are my rock.

No I have not. I don’t see why they made these machines without asking me if I’ve seen them or not
Sounds like bangerjay has better things to do than watch crappy TV shows. Speaking of which, Cowboys sure are crappy tonight.
Quoted from bangerjay:No I have not. I don’t see why they made these machines without asking me if I’ve seen them or not
They did take your Roller Coaster Tycoon suggestion, so you have that to hang your hat on. But those were different times.
Quoted from Hazoff:I guess so, or maybe its because I'm not a dork. Man I need to remind myself where I am sometimes. Enjoy I'm sure a lot of you will love to put this in a row with The Simpsons and Family guy.
I feel the same way. Don't forget south park in that line up!
The only time I shit on a theme is when it’s Iron Maiden or Supreme.
But that’s different.
Cause it’s Iron Maiden
And Supreme.
Quoted from bangerjay:I’ve also never watched orange is the new black
What? A show About prisoned women taking showers and you had no interest? I’m guessing you were more of an OZ fan.
Quoted from bangerjay:Hang out with Ross more
I like hanging w Ross. We had a really fun time at Olympics
Quoted from russdx:Tape? like on a 80s vcr?
I'm another one who has never actually seen this show or even new it was this popular! Don't really watch much tv apart from Gold Rush! and Silicon Valley
Love Silicon Valley! It’s hilarious.
OK, I figured out how to get RAM at a house I can access less than 5 miles away. Game on bitches. This better be dope. Do i gotta join this fang club or can some one get us in early from a previous purchase?
Quoted from ausretrogamer:Spooky have cornered the market beautifully with the timing of this announcement, and of course the theme of their new machine.
Since R&M is a Scott Danesi design, I think we have to ask the obvious...

Show us what you got Scott! I am in! I can’t think of a better company to bring this awesome title to market, and having Justin Roiland involved is just so important for this project. Sky is the limit! Headward free now to rise!
Also... please add a real fake coindoor. Thanks
I hope this classic line is on the game somewhere. Always felt it sums up Rick & Morty perfectly...
‘Nobody exists on purpose. Nobody belongs anywhere. Everyone’s gonna die. Come play some pinball.”

We may have to timeshare it.
Quoted from yancy:I've never watched the Sopranos, CSI, 24, Game of Thrones, NASCAR, Elvira's show, and I'm pretty sure I've never sat through an entire episode of the Munsters or Wheel of Fortune. It's a wonder I can stand to play pinball at all.
It sounds like a binge month at your place, let's get it on the calendar.
With LE appended to the title, I can’t see this game being less than $7K. Hopefully we’ll be surprised.

All Spooky games are limited. They don’t run multiple titles at once.
Quoted from Shapeshifter:No bleeps on Netflix.
First 3 seasons.
You mean you actually get to hear Sarah Chalk say "F**k You!" to Susan Sarandon" ?
Quoted from Rarehero:After Adult Swim, R&M is a Hulu exclusive. It’s not on Netflix.
In Oz the first two seasons (at least) have most definately been shown on Netflix Australia. Maybe not in other countries...

It used to be on Netflix here, too. Shows shift around based on contracts. When HBO Max debuts, R&M will be exclusive to them & leave Hulu.
I’m still excited about this announcement, and happy to see Spooky & Scott landed it over Stern. Now let’s see the playfield
Quoted from Chitownpinball:OK, I figured out how to get RAM at a house I can access less than 5 miles away. Game on bitches. This better be dope. Do i gotta join this fang club or can some one get us in early from a previous purchase?
Yesterday I emailed KT and she confirmed that the Fang club is replacing the loyalty program.
Ah the 3 phases of pinside
1) game theme is revealed, argue like crazy about who likes it who doesn't blah blah.
2) game it self is made available, argue like crazy about layout/code/quality.
3) code update, best game ever!!!!!
Well, launch button so no plumbus shooter rod like I suggested in the homebrew thread. Who’ll be the first to mod a portal gun for the ball launch?
Favorite recent Rick quote:
I’ve seen what makes you laugh, your boos mean nothing to me.
Quoted from HoakyPoaky:Also... please add a real fake coindoor. Thanks
omg, this would be a hilarious aftermarket mod!
Quoted from Chitownpinball:Then they double the number, which is bound to happen. Every barcade is going to drool over this.
It seems reasonable that if Spooky get more than 750 fang club members ordering a BS edition (No, Not a bull shit edition o-din lol) , then one or other rule would have to give?
-Or-
"We would remake an entire new rick and morty game from scratch" ... like, a sequel?
I would say for everyone to be happy it would have to go the way of more production and capacity, sooner rather than later. Or else a change to Fang Club policy?

*Nothin' personal kid
Quoted from ausretrogamer:Where did the other 50 go?
It's a glitch, in another reality Spooky anounced 700.... also, in another they make 1500...
Quoted from Gornkleschnitzer:Is it bad that I'm reading almost every post in either Rick or Morty's voice?
Oh jeez
Quoted from bangerjay:Can I interest you in a cybertruck?
Is that kinda like a cyber-root ?
have to be honest, I have never watched the show. I have heard of it. but I have never really found any adult cartoons that interest me. but I did just download the first 4 episodes and plan to watch them this weekend... all because of Spooky and TheNoTrashCougar ...
Quoted from benheck:Here's hoping R&M leads the charge to new, younger IP being turned into great pinball themes!
I can understand if it's not your cup of tea. But imagine back in the 80's or 90's when you got into pins. Would you have been interested if every theme involved movies from the 40's or Bing Crosby music? That's about how dated the current themes are in comparison.
Hear hear. And it’s not just that. These more modern IPs probably have hipper license owners who will embrace pinball and support the process to make it bitchin’. Or fire, or whatever the youngsters are saying nowadays. These Modern IP owners are less likely to be old geezers or huge corporate entities trying to squeeze every last dollar out of IP that is getting less relevant every day.
With truly interactive and immersive IP, Spooky has a slam dunk on their hands. This game has everything going for it.
