Quoted from OnTheSnap:

I swapped the fan right away on my TNA. Was a trivial effort and made the machine silent. Time well spent.
I’ll do the same For RAM if it shows up noisy again.

I'm going to liquid cool my RAM.

Agreed, a few spritzes from a spray bottle and all good.

Quoted from DanQverymuch:

If I've learned one thing, it's that before you get anywhere in life, you gotta stop listening to yourself.
Good for you, Hilton, maybe if someone had actually answered my question I wouldn't have come to that erroneous conclusion.
But I still wonder, now, how they're going to reconcile build order numbers with all Standards being built last. Not that the resolution really matters, but that particular horse I do not consider dead. It's a straightforward question. I did email Spooky about it and the response was a non sequitur and didn't answer the question. Much like every time I've asked about it here.
It is funny how easy it is to rile some of us up (e.g. not even trying, just asking a question). If it was made clear somewhere and I missed it, please feel free to point it out. I feel like I should be the one using the emoji.

I didn't think it was rocket science? .... you know, start at 1 ... then through to 749.

Wait though, it starts to get Heavy right here: Then, All the BSE are first to be built, begining with No.1. Then when All BSE are built, then the numbers following that are the Standards.

But then all people can do is complain that it's taken a couple of weeks to get the numbers of the machines sorted out. Sheesh, 1st world problems hey!!

Imagine how much whinging there would be if some of these people missed out on something important or life saving!!

I just hope I have Spookys timeline when my number is up.

I was looking at the images of the playfield and was wondering if it is the final release. They made some interesting choices:

1. The flying alien prominently displayed above the flippers appears to be similar to the flying alien from the opening credits, but 7 eyes instead of 8 and the colors are all different.

2. There are 2 characters seen briefly in Season 4 episode 1 . Larvae Mr. Goldenfarb and his grubs found on the dinning room table in the Wasp Universe. These were chosen for the right ramp.

The Kirkland Meeseeks from Season 4 Episode 1 is seen on the plastic to the right of the upper flipper.

3. The snake from Season 4 Episode 4 made the backglass.

These seem fairly minor, random characters prominently placed. It will be interesting to see how so many crazy characters and universes will be incorporated in this game.

We have not seen a production machine yet

#7107 3 years ago

Yes , I am hoping the production machine gets rid of those black bolt heads on the speaker panel and the Rick and Morty logo on the front of the machine was cut off at the top of the logo by the coin door. I have to imagine these and a lot of other changes will be made for the production machine.

Agreed. Please wait, but in the end...someone will be disappointed, not get the logic, and it will ruin their birthday. I’ve seen it on so many threads on different games. Myself, I look forward to what Spooky comes up with, and as far as the actual gameplay...I’m stoked and can’t wait to play one.

Some good new info from Scott on the latest super awesome pinball show, including that the software is able to be updated in the future with content from future series, hence the season 4 characters on the play field. Also stated that the R&m artist from the series did the game artwork,
worth a listen

I would like them also without the pickles too.

That is interesting as there was someone was going off in the other thread that the artist from the show did not work on the art for the game and was why the colors were wrong and that the art seemed random. I'd say if they stated it was the actual artist, it was him.

I didn't know there was two RaM threads blowing up!? lol

What is this other thread?

I just re listened to the podcast, and it said the artist was supplied by adult swim, and is a Rick and Morty artist, Josh Freykis, it looks like he maybe not the original main artist, and an associate artist that does merch etc for adult swim.
I think that is the other guys point in the anti r&m thread

#7116 3 years ago

Everyone is right, the numbers will end up where they do, my stupid question is irrelevant. Spooky will do what they think is fair, I'm sure.

I mean this. I'm sorry for wasting anyone's time.

Followed by six pages of Pinside bitching "I asked Spooky what my build order is and didn't get an answer. I heard they're taking the money for R&M and flying to Mexico!"

Yes sir but i had some unread while they were porting so i don't know which were unread lol.

Will have 10 on the floor this week. Will finish them next week. Then box up. Gameplay video is coming after we smash some bugs!
I'm sure we could take pictures next week or so.

I was watching the show the other night and the colors/art looks right on. Loving the playfield.

Some detail on the 'family mode' filtering.
Some of the callouts are just something you wouldn't want to say in front of children; like the masturbation joke Scott's mentioned in some interviews. It's not REALLY cursing, it's just not family friendly really. In those cases, the filter replaces that line with an alternate.
For lines that just have cursing in them, most of the time the 'clean' version is just 'bleeped' like it does on TV.
In a very small number of cases, the cursing is clearly separated from the other words and it just gets removed for the clean one.
And this bit I posted before:
There's a quick toggle on the front page of the service menu (Enter service menu and hold the launch button and it will swap between your current setting and "off")
AND
There's also a time based option you can turn on and then set a START and END time. In between START and END, the swearing is forced to OFF, outside of that, it goes to whatever your current setting is for the filter.
This is the front page of the service mode - shows the Current active setting and details:

This is cool and all, but aren't 99% of people just going to have it all the way on or all the way off?

I guess I just don't personally care if kids hear swearing considering they exist in a world with the internet.

No, I don’t think 99% of the people will leave it off, I am foul as the next guy, but I think it’ll be funnier to have it at like 40-60% so they are a bit more random, AND funnier

I'm just as foul and all our kids are adults (no grandkids yet), but I will not set mine that high either. Maybe 20-30% so that it draws from everything and throws the really foul stuff out occasionally which will make it funnier since you dont hear it all the time. If it was set on high, the value of the humor would wear off a lot quicker.

Kind of like with Scared Stiff where the call out most of the time is "Shoot the bony beast".. But once in a blue moon, it pulls out "Shoot the bony breast... I mean beast!". No where near as offensive, but funny every time I hear it because it is so rare and random.

Look back a bunch of pages and you'l see a bunch of parents asking about this. Definitely not 99%!

That's just because of the rarity of the callout, not how "dirty" it is.

I just don't see any words as "dirty", just a sound wave nothing more really. The only thing that really offends me is censorship.

But I do stand corrected, looks like this is a feature people actually want.

The machine should definitely call you a dirty bastard if you turn up adult mode all the way... (anyone else remember the Filth-O-Meter in Leisure Suit Larry?)

It's not just that, it also has to do with accessing a larger pool of callouts. ANY callout gets old if you hear it too often. Putting the setting on a mix broadens the number of clips you can hear.

For example, I have RZ. I typically have it set on adult mode. But there are "family" mode clips that are still good/funny. Occasionally I'll set it to family mode for a while to hear different audio. I've been asking for a while to have a setting that puts all audio in one pool and pulls from it for greater diversity. This is the benefit of the mixed audio setting vs just being an on/off switch.

would anyone be interested in a rick & morty keychain/bag clip for their machine? I purchased 2 cases for some specific ones but was looking to offer the rest up to people here. $4 plus shipping each

I still need to go through the bags to see what I have, but I should have at least one of each of the ones not marked

is it possible to have the START end END time chance the swearing to a lower %? say 40% during the day and 100% after 9PM? all or nothing seems a bit harsh

#7137 3 years ago

Scott talks a bit about the lighting effects in/under the house. He mentions they can create rotational lighting patterns in the garage, which sounds really cool! There are also additional flashers under the portal and in the death crystal!

There's a difference between censorship and limiting explicit content, though. Those of us using the feature are generally doing so to avoid small children hearing something like "stick it in your ass, Morty!" if they aren't quite mature enough for that kind of language yet.

I don't think many would want to censor the explicit language for those who want it!

I imagine some operators will appreciate their game not dropping F-bombs on location, too.

That seems very specific. I think most parents are either okay or not okay with their children hearing explicit content. I can just imagine having a machine on route and getting a complaint from a parent about an explicit line. Not sure it's going to fly that there was only a 10% chance of the machine playing that line.

I completely understand the need/want for a clean option, just not sure of the middle of the road stuff. A third option that includes all callouts in the pool would be great though, I'd probably set it to that myself.

In for a Standard.... #587

Any Standard buyers with a lower number? I went through a distributor so it must have been simpler to leave the original number from that allotment than rearrange.

I've been assured that all of the BSEs will be produced first even with my (relatively) low spot number.
