Quoted from SDTMinSTL:

Thanks for the kind words from some of you and for taking the time to listen to the our interview of Scott Danesi
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/rick-amp-morty-pinball-from-spooky/page/126#post-5383402
For the record, I did push for a bit more info, even going so far as to ask for a music clip to play from the new game (he politely declined)... but I respect Scott a ton and was mindful of their need to keep some of the development plans under wraps until it is ready for public consumption. There are always questions after the fact that you slap your self for not asking during an interview, and that certainly applies here, but overall, I am VERY happy with how it turned out. Scott was a pleasure to speak and work with.
-Jason

It was great! Looking forward to more in the future

Like to hear an interview with Jack Danger and Bowen Kerins my favorite player/presenters.

Quoted from TigerLaw:

I believe Charlie said ACNC was finishing up around Christmas and the line would turn over to R&M before the new year. Do we know if this has happened as of yet? Thanks!

This was posted on their Facebook page on the 24th mentioning they got the first batch of cabinets, playfields, and ton of parts.

Can someone please go post a new "R&M - my place in line" thread for JUST discussing "my place in line" numbers?

ANYONE can do this right now.

Please link it in the thread when you've posted it.

thanks!

There *has* to be a reason the portal hole is so huge, hoping for a built in portal effect!

Quoted from TherealDroopy:

Hoping rick gets more insulting if you cant hit your shots. The percentage(randomness) will be fun. but if you are bricking shots and rick starts cutting you down, awesome.

How would the game know you’re bricking shots? The only way a game knows how to respond to anything is by switch hits.

Quoted from northerndude:

Quite your fuckin’ belly aching

To be fair, I think a lot of people were good little boys about setting their alarms, having the spooky page up and logged in prior to launch, already decided on BSE, then upon launch clicking buy instantly only to watch the site spin and spin...so in a panic they jump to back up plan Joe after 5 minutes only to realize that means 2021 now with a 500+ number...and to twist the knife further...less than a minute and a half sooner order with Joe would have resulted in 6-8 months less wait time

Might as well have just rolled out of bed from a drunken stupor and ordered whenever

Maybe the "special" perk for ordering in the first 48hrs? Cant wait for new year and hopefully more info from Spooky.

Ordered a standard direct from Spooky.

Spooky Order Number: AB-1916
Game Number: 729

#6414 4 years ago

Just to help fill in the list, we ordered direct from Spooky, Standard Edition #745!

#6415 4 years ago
Quoted from TherealDroopy:

Not hitting the shot/switch its asking you to

Gotcha. That’s missing, not bricking. I’m sure If there are any timed lit shots that aren’t mad, Rick will be calling us “pieces of shit” and whatnot lol

World Cup soccer with the brutal “they can’t seem to keep control of the ball!”

#6418 4 years ago
Quoted from Fytr:

There *has* to be a reason the portal hole is so huge, hoping for a built in portal effect!

If you look at the very first pic they posted of the back of the playfield, it looked like there was some sort of molding underneath it. I assume if that is the case, they could do some funky lighting effects there to make it look more portal like. It's hard to tell from the videos.

#6419 4 years ago
Quoted from JustEverett:

#235 here! After listening to Scott's interview on the Slap Save podcast, I can't wait to hear play around with the gradients of family friendly mode. Though I'm sure I'll be playing it on 100% adult for a while. Also, Joe at PinballStar is the man. This is my second purchase from him, and he seems to do everything he can to make it fair. Really looking forward to making a trip up to Spooky to pick this baby up in the summer!

Beeps for swears are just inherently funny to me for some reason so I'm definitely going to keep mine tilted further towards the beeps with an occasional swear....love the slider for it.

I've got a WC....one of my favorite callouts ever....games need more sick burns for you not being able to hit shots.

One reason why I wanted this Spooky game besides the dream design team, is due to fact Spooky isn’t making 4 games a year but rather four games every 6 years makes them more focused on this pin, not saying ACNC and the past titles aren’t also being coded but we know that R&M is going to be getting a lot of TLC.

While the slower build pace is not great if you’re stuck near the end it’s great as a whole process to get the most out of this one pin at a time.

I love Stern (insert the “I can’t quit you”. meme) but let’s be honest they can release games every 60-90 days they’re already teasing Led Zeppelin, I can hardly remember what came before Stranger Things (I know Elvira) but the endless parade of pins while great could also lead to a pin getting less love lesser code team or less time to code if the games doesn’t sell that well.

This is a big reason why I jumped onboard as well. It's likely going to be another 3 years' until we see another Spooky game done by this team (if it even happens at all), so the game should get a lot of attention. And knowing the guys involved they will work hard to make sure the game is the best it can be. I'm less inclined to buy a game with a horror (or Godzilla) theme so I figured with the dream team/dream theme now is the perfect time to get a Spooky game!

Same and super excited to play this.

Luke, how about and update?

You building games this week or waiting on final sign offs from licensing?

I haven't seen anyone from Spooky post in this thread in a while, so I'm hoping that means that they are hard at work getting the line setup and building games!

Holiday is over

Get to work if you want them cheese balls!

(Says the guy that has been partying in NYC for a long weekend, lol)

#6427 4 years ago

Pretty sure the "Holidays" won't be over until after the 1st.

#6428 4 years ago

Scott mentioned in our interview that building of R&M was supposed to start "sometime in the next week" I believe. That should be the first week of January if I understood correctly.

Not even close. There's a region for sale thread with 15k...and I assume there are others much older and larger.

Both statements are true, but this thread is... 25 days old. Those regional for sale threads are pushing a decade.

Yeah it looks like more than just a couple if LEDs in there. From that angle that should be a view of the garage ceiling?

The JPOP debacle thread has over 24,000 posts, below is a picture of the abridged version of that thread to save anyone who isn’t up to speed on the JPOP situation a lot of time.

This R&M thread is the exact opposite of the JPOP thread and will be about pinball awesomeness and promises made and fulfilled. I am so much happier to be with this group now!

I am not sure how he arranged it to be honest. I know he had access to a small amount somehow. Given he is someone I trust and consider a friend, it was a no brainer for me.

They are both under me and are technically just passing games along to their customers. I needed some Stern titles so we worked out a trade for a handful of games. These are games that game from my allotment, not extras from Spooky.

I am not sure how he arranged it to be honest. I know he had access to a small amount somehow. Given he is someone I trust and consider a friend, it was a no brainer for me.

Quoted from RandomGuyOffCL:

To be fair, I think a lot of people were good little boys about setting their alarms, having the spooky page up and logged in prior to launch, already decided on BSE, then upon launch clicking buy instantly only to watch the site spin and spin...so in a panic they jump to back up plan Joe after 5 minutes only to realize that means 2021 now with a 500+ number...and to twist the knife further...less than a minute and a half sooner order with Joe would have resulted in 6-8 months less wait time
Might as well have just rolled out of bed from a drunken stupor and ordered whenever

Id like to talk more about the leds in this game. There are a lot supposedly, and that being said considering how many TNA has is exciting. I noticed a lack of gi holes in the back areas of the playfield. Do you think they will light the house? I wonder how they will to create effects.

I am reading through this and wondering how (if) I should even react to you statements. Are you implying that I did something wrong by allowing the customer that have helped grow my business have first access to the new game? Are you aware that this has been Spooky's model for every game after amh up until now? The only reason it was changed here was because they (spooky) had more previous customers than buildable games. For them, this was the only fair way. I suspect this is also why pinball star did it the way they did. Will I someday have to turn to the same sale style? Hopefully, but in the mean time i am still small enough to not have the volume of customers that the others do.
As for luke "even talked about it," so what? My customers EARNED the privilege of having first pick at the new game. If luck or Charlie or anyone at spooky has an issue with the way I run my business they will let me know. Fyi, I am also one of spooky's tech support people that answers emails on Christmas eve, after 10pm and even offers facetime to help walk through problems. If I was doing ANYTHING wrong would they let me help them?
Not that I need to explain this, but even after ALL of my previous customers confirmed they wanted a game, new customers started getting games in the mid 200's.
I'm sorry that you are frustrated by the lack of communication from your distributor, but that doesnt mean you should come here and try to attack spooky or myself for doing business they way we feel appropriate for our customers. On the next game you want, find a distributor that will work the way you want things done. That's the nice thing about pinball. The products are all the same no matter who you get them from, so it comes down to who you makes you feel like a priority and not a paycheck.
I believe you even reached out to me about getting a game. Had you stuck with that you would have a number (and even possibly earlier that what you will end up with). I truly do feel bad for you guys that are waiting, but I have done nothing wrong.

Chris is awesome and super helpful !

Does what he says and I found out about him from a friend who had a bad situation, that Chris was super helpful to fix. That is why I bought from him and he has helped me a lot as well.
