Quoted from TheNoTrashCougar:

The lock can lock up to 4. 2 on each side. We are currently using it in really cool ways as a lock, a movable captive ball, and a fast-ass u-turn. I am extremely happy with how it turned out.

Here they go again, being dishonest and manipulating the numbers!

Why won’t Spooky just be straight up about how many balls Can be locked.

Scott is saying 4, and then He’s saying 2. 4 times two divided by the square root of my invoice number is an impossible number of balls to lock.

Somebody is lying here.

My distributor said I’d be able to lock all the balls, and now other people are saying they’re able to lock 3 balls.

I just wish people would be honest about the number of ball locks.

#5302 10 months ago

I can’t figure how it’ll lock 2 on each side. Only 2 drop targets correct?

There is an "up post" behind the turnaround area that can keep balls on one side or the other.

ha ha holy shit how did I miss this! Only a R&M thread could have a geek post a Railroad ACI plate. I have one on my arcade-entry wall, pulled from a B&O/Chessie System trailer.

(for those of you who weren't really that curious, Railroads developed the "Automated Car Identification" system in the 1960's; it was the direct precursor to / adapted into the UPC barcodes we're more familiar with).

Sorry... even if it was accidental on the OP's part I just had to indulge the rare opportunity to tip a railroad reference around here. I gladly now return you to your "schedule"(d) bickering.

Glad you asked! I made a crap ton of exciting music for the game and remixed some of the show music as well. I also did the sound effects with the exception of the sounds from the show. If you liked what I did on TNA and ACNC, you shoudl be happy.
--Scott

Hey Scott, being (some) licensed music, are there any plans to release a soundtrack like on TNA?

On a side note, I listened to the TNA soundtrack yesterday and wow, it is amazing. Here's to hoping it gets released on vinyl someday.

Calm down Ed.... you are forgetting to take into account the Canadian conversion rate. 4 American Balls is 2 Canadian Balls.... Spooky will have to include the game conversion features on all of it's exports. Making pinballs IS hard!

I have a good friend who presses custom vinyl in the INDIANAPOLIS area for pretty significant artists. I can put y’all in touch!!

I mentioned this the other day but speaking of "locks" that thread got one...

So I just wanted to make sure you saw credit to your ingenuity on this new design: Most ball locks have just a single shared entry/exit point, making them sort of "Dead zones" where nothing else can happen there. So it's a commitment of pf space.

The RaM lock seems like one of the few (if not only?) locks that is traversible all the way through, let alone in *both* directions!

I can't wait to see how the rules will play out in terms of capturing balls on each side, or all on one, etc. I imagine having 3 or more could be interesting once they're released, especially if the left side release favors a trajectory toward the pop...

Quoted from harryhoudini:

To be fair, Spooky also said they were starting to build 10 a week after xmas which definitely was an implication that games would start shipping to customers then. It seems like that isn't the case and that I think is what stands out to me. We all knew we would be waiting some amount of time at 10 per week but the implication was if you joined the fang club you'd have the opportunity to get in first when really it seems like first is many games down the line from the first week of production.
Also, it was very clearly stated that the only people who would have access to the early sale were fang club members but then it was later announced that if you called a distributor you could just join the club later. That seems a bit disingenuous.

I see that there's some inference in the communications from Spooky, and reasonable people could read their words different ways. But I think the response from a few people here is way out-of-proportion. This is not a Predator or JPop situation. Everyone was told they'll get one of 750 tables, and production starts in January. Nobody here was given a build order.

Spooky's a little company. Making pins will take time. Let's all buckle in for the long haul of seeing "I got mine" posts and people obsessing over how much their shipping company is screwing up. We'll be here for 18 months, give or take.

Quoted from TheNoTrashCougar:

You can backhand the right side lock from the right flipper no problem. You can also backhand the left lock from the left flipper. The new lock is perfectly symmetrical to the flippers. I hope that is what you were asking.
--Scott
Edit: Ohh, if you meant hit the inner loop that is on the left upper side of the playfield, no, you cannot hit that with the right flipper. The upper flipper is the only one that can hit that shot.
The right flipper can hit the 3 standup targets, the left ramp, the noob noob taget, the left lock, the scoop, and the right lock.

Yes I was talking about the inner loop, thank you for clarifying.. going to be an awesome game

As an International Fang Club member, I paid more for my membership. I should be able to lock more balls. That would be fair... But NO, not with Sneaky Pinball.

Quoted from rai:

I can't either, and I'm the one that would have to build the logic to make that happen.

Three in the lock is not as much of a problem, but to get to 4 we'd have to have 3 on one side for at least some amount of time and then the game wouldn't know where that ball is, which is always bad.

So, yeah, there are 4 detectable ball positions in the thing; but filling all of them would be problematic. Sorry Scott.

You might be on to something here, Luke said there were 5 balls total in the game - one of them being staged in the portal. If we lock 4 in the Sanesi lock 2.0 and have one in the portal. THEN WHO WAS PHONE?!

#5317 10 months ago
Quoted from Spelunk71:

Agreed. It makes total sense from Spooky’s perspective that the VIPs, past customers, etc. could jump the line. It’s just too bad they didn’t mention that in the explanation of how this all would work. Sure, maybe they told people who called and asked, but I felt no need to call after reading their posted info that seemed to lay it all out (and implied that average Joes would have a fair shot at the lowest numbers). I’m sure it was just an oversight, but a mistake nonetheless. Live and learn. As others have said, though, this isn’t exactly the liver allocation list we’re talking talking about. I’m stoked for this game whenever it arrives. BTW, I ordered from PinballStar and haven’t heard about my number. If I’m in the top 50, I’ll switch places with the highest bidder (Not)!

Hi. I’m a return customer (18 months for my ACNC) and landed at #707 BSE for another year and a half wait. I don’t think there was any boost for prior game buyers. If there was, I’m not sure how getting #707 was a perk. The good thing is if I don’t want to wait I should be able to move my place to another buyer and get my deposit back. But I have lots of time to think about it. . Also it did not help that I was on the fence in the morning and when I finally committed probably scored one of the Very last BSE’s. My number is reflective of that indecision.

I'm really glad you were able to figure out how to light up the clear drop targets to be included in the light show. Hopefully it's something that can be retrofitted to the TNA drop targets...when you have some...you know...down time

So I had a really nice talk with Kayte at Spooky and let me start by saying how awesome she is. She explained a lot more stuff about the ordering etc, and it made perfect sense. I encourage anyone else who, like me, was genuinely wondering what happened to go talk to her or Spooky (be polite!). I'm excited about my pin and look forward to owning my first spooky pin. I apologize for sounding like a broken record, and if I did have any misinformation in my posts it was absolutely not intentional.

Happy Holidays to all.

This mech sounds like it will the swiss army knife of toys. Using it as uper fast horseshoe shot, using it as physical lock, using it as simple drop target shot, using it as a captive ball(s) that can move some side to side. So many possibilities for mini side missions.

That was my thinking. I figured either side could hold two with a third on the opposite side, but once in that state, I couldn't figure out how to get that fourth ball in place. It was bothering me that I couldn't figure it out. Thanks for clarifying.

Order #1 or so online is #120 in line.
Order #31 or so online is #258 in line
Order #75 or so online is #350 in line
Look, I'm really not trying to complain here, but this is the reality of the situation and just doesn't jive with the original statements about how the line was going to form.
The fact is you were at a HUGE disadvantage if you bought through spooky's website, as far as getting an early number.
Spooky was not up front about how these games would be distributed.

whenever I see a post from donkadelic, all I'm visualizing is this:

seriously, some people need to realize that pinball is a hobby and a luxury item. move on and complain (or doing something) about real world things, not pinball

What is the price difference between the base model and the blood sucking LE?

#5326 10 months ago

So with someone posting their BSE #710 in here, that means 40 or less standards were made. How many Big Lebowskis are out there? I am fully expecting my June 2021 production Standard to quickly appreciate to TBL values.

Also, why did standard + BSE get their own game pages considering the differences are just cosmetic? If Stern Premiums/LE's get one page I'd think this should be consolidated at some point just to avoid confusion.

Incredibly pumped for this game, every time Scott posts I just get more excited. So much potential for cool shit with these mechs + the lighting, I assume by the time my game shows up this thing will be absolutely kick ass.

Yeah Boy. Got my email. I'm number #287!!! I was 1856 on the spooky receipt 9:10 am. This means My game will be made around the 29th week of the year which is around the middle of July.
Super stoked. I remember when I ordered AMH I was game #62 (receipt #40) and they had just finished building game #19 or 21. This was back in Dec 2014 when they needed fully HALF of the game price for a deposit. And it shipped July 22nd that year, the 29th week.
gotta love the synchronicity.

We are almost neighbors. I was receipt 1860, and I'm game number 295.

#5331 10 months ago

I am #740, so I have a chunk of time to wait. But I expected that and waiting doesn't bother me (I was also waiting a long while for RZ, which is still my wife's favorite game). I went with the standard because the purple armor was not my favorite and I can powdercoat myself anyway and choose my own coloring. Now if we could just get someone to make either Archer or Bob's Burgers...

That does not include delivery as delivery charges vary based on your location. Picking the game up in Benton is always free though.

It's "jibe" not "jive."

Which, while not nearly as funky, makes a lot more sense.

Also, regardless of whether or not you like to invent meanings for words that make no sense, possible long waits are part of the Spooky deal. Everybody knows this. I don't get buying a Spooky game and then complaining it may take two years to get one.

We all knew it was only a matter of time before the throngs would start to turn on Spooky...but it hasn't even been a week since these things went on sale! Tranquilo, baby!

I'm perfectly fine with the preorder situation. I had a very low number at 1812 but knew there would be many more before me. I'm a little relieved actually that they'll have over 100 done by the time they do mine and may have any kinks worked out if there are any. I bought the Fang club membership in the hopes of just getting a machine, not just getting to the front of the queue. It gives me more time to decide on some of the upgrades.

Exactly neighbor. I have 1818, and feel the same way. I'd prefer to not have one of the very first pins too. Here's to a fun spring!

Again, this is 100% FINE. Just tell us ahead of time, don't make it seem like it's 50/50 and online had an equal shot at an early game # when it clearly wasn't the case.

Heck I barely remembered it was that morning so I knew with my late response I'd be pretty far back in line. If only more people would have gone for the standard...

The wait is killing me The good/bad news here is that the code is very premature. How raw is it - maybe 10% - 20% complete?

So if the first 100 games are delivered in 1Q20, those getting the game will be playing early code That code doesn’t exist today, but it will be created and available then. Now if your game # is around number 250, your game will arrive by June 2020 and it should have solid code. Game can be enjoyed and evaluated at that point. Many of the production woes will have been resolved.

Did I mention the wait is killing me ????

Just a suggestion to Spooky to keep the line orderly..... They have made it clear from the start any buyer can have buyers remorse and there is no issue selling your spot. They Should however note that you are buying a Spot and any buyer sale transfer will form at the back of the line! All numbers stay the same just that last minute buyer steps to the back of the line. Pretty much an industry standard and would dispel the few trying to make a buck off the spooky orders. Just a thought.
