Thanks for putting this together.

I noticed you can configure brightness on the same RGB_DMD tab on line 68. It's ridiculous... it's a near passable brightness at 1%! I've set mine to 5% for now.

matrix.setBrightness(5);

I verified plug and play compatibility with Starship Troopers and Jurassic Park. There are some sync issues with Super Mario Bros that I've reported to Eli and hope to help resolve, maybe with some recordings and feedback.

BTW, as far as troubleshooting goes, I had a heck of a time trying to get the Teensy recognized on my PC (tried 3 separate PCs and a few different USB cables). Apparently mine wasn't getting power through USB, but worked fine and was recognized by the PC when I plugged in the external power.

My phone can't capture a decent image on these for crap, so I'm not even going to bother, in fear that it would make this product look bad.

Quoted from ecurtz:

Brightness is actually an 8bit value so it goes from 0-255.

Jeeze! So when it's on 1, it's actually .39%?

I've been doing a lot of Gottlieb System 3 tests with ecurtz. Not much work on my side, just loading up test code changes and giving feedback. We were surprised to learn that System 3 has the capacity for more than 4 colors, and so far seems to be doing things differently than other manufacturers.

On the DMD test screen it actually displays 5 colors (including off).

The attached image is from my XPIN display.

Thats cool. I will say having 5 colors is really helpful. Cool. Good news for Mario!!

I'll be surprised to find out that Mario actually utilizes all 5. I wouldn't have guessed it from my memory of the different animations, but I've definitely never bothered to stop and count.

System 3 is still a work in progress as far as I know. I haven't been able to do testing recently and haven't followed up with ecurtz to see if there are any updates.

Quoted from ecurtz:

If anyone is interested in taking over some testing from winteriscoming let me know.

It's not that I lost interest. I just had a baby!

I still very much want to see System 3 working.
