This is way off the pinball topic but was hoping someone could help me get my coax crimp tool unstuck.

I tried crimping the RG6 connector in wrong spot on the tool so basically it wasn't able to fully reset & release pressure.

I've tried removing screws & tapping with hammer.

    Any ideas? Thanks

That internal tab at the top of the plastic handle covers won't release it?

You could try putting it in a vise and apply some pressure.
That could damage the tool, but perhaps it will move it enough to release that tab easily.

If you get desperate, you could use a drill bit the right size and destroy that connector that is lodged in the tool, by drilling it out near the size of the tool jaws until it collapses.
Just be careful and don't get too aggressive and damage the jaws of the tool.

For what it’s worth, I switched from the traditional DIY crimper tool you are using, to the compression type after watching my Xfinity technician. He explained that at higher speeds, the amount of contact between cable and connector matters, and the compression type make a better joint. I got the tool at harbor freight which comes with a dozen compression connectors too. You can get compression connectors on Amazon cheap.

After using compression connectors, I would never go back to old school...
