The versions beyond 1.7 needs more RAM so be mindful!

the easiest way to update to v1.6 is with a Pub card from Rob Anthony "lock when lit"

#1753 6 years ago

Looking at an RFM and was told the green in the monitor will flicker and a cab bump will usually fix it.....read about resoldering on the cpu. Where am I resoldering? Looks like it should be an easy fix.

Did this myself, and it really is easy.

It would not be the cpu, it would be some solder joint on the monitor chassis or neckboard, maybe one of the pots for the green.

Another vote for this option, did this myself, easy to do and no stuffing around trying to upload from a lappy

Thanks to all who recommended Rob Anthonys’ site. I will reach out to him. Really enjoying this game !

Friction tape? The same stuff used to mount lift channels on Backglasses?

Thanks guys!

I've got beer tape there, like the one on the lockbar.

#1765 6 years ago
Quoted from awarner:

I made my own mount:

This is the 2nd time I’ve done it this way with this model monitor.

Thanks for this - would you recommend leaving the monitor in the case or removing it ? What kind of settings did you have to dial in to get a decent picture. SLG3000 just been delivered today now need to get a vga gender changer for it to fit inline

Sure, why not.

#1767 6 years ago

Make sure to use a scanning generator with a LCD. It really sharpens up the image if you have proper resolution /scaling.

Quoted from Lmjdad:

it was originally a textured tape. I still have am unattached NOS piece that I have not put on my machine yet. I'll see if I can locate it to scan for the dimensions

this product looks very similar to the original material

#1769 6 years ago

Does’nt this kind of material do scratch balls? Just wondering, as I did put a thick black adhesive velvet, I do put this also on rfm whenever I wanted to eliminate reflections on the image monitor area,so that “pepper ghost effect” is more real.

#1770 6 years ago

I put a piece of adhesive foam on there, weatherseal. Stops the big clunk if the ball ever hits the front face off the ramp

When i turn My RFM on.
The translite lights Up and i hear the fan working. And the monitor is black/purpleish!
But the playfield is all black and i try to push the service buttons no sound no nothing.
What could be wrong?
It worked fine last time i played it 2 days ago.

you could try to re-seat the Prism card into the Motherboard.

#1779 6 years ago

Check the internal CPU fan. You said you heard the fan working but there is more than one. Reseat Prism card as suggested. Get a meter and check DC voltages from supply, and check motherboard for bulging caps.

#1780 6 years ago

Still looking to trade my beautiful SWE1 for an rfm near md/pa/va.

I re-seated the prism card and all cables.
And now i work fine

#1784 6 years ago

Hello Paul,

i will do it.

My problem was not the RfM, it is a really cool Pin. But i had a GoT Pro and after that..... it is like driving Mustang, after that....

So i will look for another GoT (but not so sure than in the past).

Plan was to sell Got Pro and put some money on a side and than buy Got LE (Premium is not my taste).

BUT! ecerybody tells me not to buy the LE because the Pro ist way better.

So i am not sure and with the massive porblems people here in germany have with node boards issues i am maybe turning back to SAM.

Maybe better buy ST LE than GoT Pro.

I don´t know, future will tell......

But i will remember this club as a good place to be.

#1785 6 years ago

I feel the Got pro is way better then the premium or LE.theven extra playfield takes away from the game imo.

I totally reneged on my word today. Buyer was going to drive over tomorrow to pickup RFM and I couldn’t do it. I was having major sellers remorse, feel bad and probably left a bad impression but something about this game is really special!

#1796 6 years ago

Finally brought my game back to life! Pinbox to the rescue! Would have been nice to just get a nucore system and support the guys who originally helped out people with dead machines but they're not available anymore.

I have to say though it is a huge improvement with the LCD and 2.1 amp!

Just need a 110v PSU for the PC so I can run it off the machines power switch.

#1797 6 years ago

Hi, i need some help to fix my RFM.
Someone put a remote on/off power in front of the cabinet but not well insulated.
I tried to put this switch ''on'' but i shorted it on coin box metal and it made some sparks.
Now the game boot and goes to attrack mode but with message ''coin door open''.
Coin door test switch don't work.
I checked all fuse and they are ok.
The interlock switch is ok and even if i push or pull this switch nothing happen.

I tried to narrow the problem, removed the J114 connector and ground pins
10-11-12-13 to acces test mode. Test mode is working that way.
I can start the game and everything is working, i can play manually.
Of course no coils are working, the game said ''coin door open'' even is the door switch is closed.

Any suggestions where to solve that problem ??
I really need help with this problem, RFM is down ....

#1798 6 years ago
