Review: X-Pin Data East Power Driver board XP-DE5047

    So...
My TMNT was totally acting up lately,
basically would reboot on misc. occasions.
Then it wouldn't boot and just a few dots show up (no booting and no sounds).

My gut instinct was power driver issue (typical of data east games).

So instead of getting the rotten dog one (did it before on another game and it was ok),
I decided to try X-Pin's Data East Power Driver board XP-DE5047

    It was $129 shipped.

What is the going rate for an original DE power driver board restored/working?

Just wanted to add my review of this power supply board. My Last Action hero was acting up. I was constantly getting audio board and DMD resets. Also, the crane would never make it across the play field without stopping in the middle. After trying a bunch of small fixes, I determined the old power supply was junked due to bad components and damaged traces from a previous owner's hack. I ordered this off the XPin website, installed and the game has a whole new feel to it. Pop bumpers are stronger, the crane moves faster, everything is better and all the problems are gone. For the price, you can't beat this if your board can't be rebuilt. It's a great product.

I just may need to order another one of these for a game to then have the old one rebuilt as a backup again.

My TMNT still works like a champ with the Xpin in it.

    Thanks for the review!

My TFTC has been experiencing phantom switches occurring when they're not supposed to. When I push in both flippers it sometimes activates the captive ball switch, or when I hit my left ramp at certain times in a game it activates activity that occurs with hitting the right ramp, and so on.

Any idea which XPin board would help me iron these issues out?

I was going to purchase an XPin power supply board this weekend at pinfest but I wasn't 100% sure it would solve my problems, or exactly which board I should replace.

It seems that when I push both flippers at the same time it's draining the voltage down and causing my CPU to receive bad data and that's what's firing those phantom switches.

    Any advice is much appreciated!
