Just ordered a set of the halographic (hollow core) flippers, based on all the feedback from the folks in this thread. Hopeful they'll help with my poor shot repeatability on Mando!

Quoted from parsonsaj:Surprised you had money left over for these after dropping that $2k on the topper
Haha, I think part of the reason I pulled the trigger here was because I was so sorely priced out of that topper... yeesh.
Quoted from parsonsaj:Seriously, though, I think you will be very pleasantly surprised from the moment you open the package and just hold the things in your hands...
Hoping they're a good fit for Mando; I searched the thread for feedback specific to that machine but didn't see much. I'm wondering if maybe the increased power/speed might be a little too much for a machine where there's so much stuff close to the flippers.
Worst case scenario I'll move them over to Deadpool or Batman, so no big deal.
Arrived today, installed on Mandalorian Premium (lower flippers only). Looks great with the apron spotlights!
I don’t think I missed a right-ramp backhand in the 45 minutes I was playing tonight, and also set a couple of “high” scores. Definitely felt like the left ramp up to the Upper Playfield was a much easier shot from both the left and right flippers. Normally a left flip up that ramp is rare for me and a right flip has to be dead-on or I’ll get rejects. Far fewer rejects and a fair amount of backhands on that ramp tonight, which is awesome.
It almost feels like the ball has more confidence, as stupid as that feels to type out. It’s hard to know whether it’s confirmation bias or reality, but I did feel like I was at least in more control of my shots and felt like I was getting what I wanted out of my flips. Placebo effect or not, I had one of my best ever games tonight!
I did lower the flipper power for both left and right down to 220 after a few games. I think it could probably still go a little lower but need to get some more time playing with them before I drop the power any further. I’m liking the extra “juice.”
Thanks John!
Quoted from BSoulMan:Please post an update on your experience with these- I have a Mando Prem and I am somewhat interested in this also...
Yo-- still only have one long evening of play on them at the moment, but it was a good one. I posted some feedback on how they impacted my Mandalorian in a later post, here:

Quoted from PinMonk:Whew! Close one. Saved getting another tear tattoo...

You know, I could see Joel getting a Halographic flipper silhouette as a tattoo!
Shaped like a teardrop… coincidence?!
Quoted from 1956PINHEAD:docquest Here are a few photos of my Batman66 with different color Halo's installed. I like the black, that is what I have installed in my game, kinda works with the Bat art work nicely
They play and feel great on this game.

Hey John, how would you describe the improvement on a Batman 66? This is a game I’ve never had too much trouble with in terms of shot makeability or repeatability, so just curious specifically where you feel the improvement is on this title.
Not suggesting it’s unnecessary, just curious.
I’m guessing the next set I order from you would more likely be Deadpool, but that’s just based on my expectation that Deadpool would have a little more “ROI” than Batman.
Appreciate it!
Quoted from chuckwurt:Day one of Pincinnati tournaments today. Godzilla pro is already getting the attention of the players. They are definitely struggling with timing based on feedback from practice yesterday. That’s a good thing. Let’s see how they adapt.
Dang, you guys start early!
Edit: oops. Misread your post… I’ll change this post to an observation about the precision flippers: I think one of the biggest areas of improvement for me is the ability to make the orbit shots more consistently. The decrease in slop from the plastic bushings really seems to make a difference, and the orbit shots in particular are far more repeatable for me. (Mandalorian Premium)
