Hey folks, I’ve found a Revenge From Mars locally to put opposite my AFMR LE. The outside art is in practically perfect condition.

The Playfield is a bit dusty and not as perfect as I’d like and the balls are rusty but all appears to be in working order. Bulbs and CRT are all working.

My first order of business is to give the Playfield a gentle dry cloth cleaning. Then I’ll wax it up and replace the existing balls with Chrome ones.

There is one small place where the board Art is starting to peel from the board. I’ll take pictures when it arrives and would love any advice there on how to prevent further damage.

I gotta find a cliffy for the Stroke of Luck drop.

Pulling the rusted bolts and hitting them with some fresh black rustoleum.

I’m also hoping to replace the stock saucers with metallic looking ones to match my Attack From Mars but I can’t find metallic painted replacements anywhere. Can anyone help there?

I’m also hoping to find a set of good mirror sideblades.

Lastly I’m going to look up how to update it to the latest software.

This is my second Pin but my first used pin. I’m looking forward to giving this one a bit of tlc.

Have any of you done any upgrades to your RFM that you really enjoy?

The best and I think only update I ever did to mine was to move that darn on and off switch under the cabinet to the normal position like all the other pins in the collection. Takes out the guess work where it is all the time, expect for when I turn on/off someone else's RFM game......LOL.

Hi dashv
First thing I would do would be to check the cpu fan and power supply. If fans aren’t spinning perfectly or are noisy or the AT-power supply looks original, replace it.
This thread has great info: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/rfm-hillary-come-here-you-gotta-see-this - pinsider applejuice was able to hack the code past the official 1.6 code, and he is up to 2.1, and it’s fantastic. That stuff is towards the last 5 or 6 pages of the thread. Congrats!

Wow John, that's a really smart solution for that minor annoyance. Now I'm seriously considering using doing that to my SWE1 - Thanks!

If you are looking for the Cliffy's, all of the suppliers are out. Just contact Cliff directly and he has them in stock. I literally just placed an order with him for both Cliffy's last week. I'm the process of a complete top-side teardown and rebuild of flippers, pop bumpers, ball catcher, targets, etc. I will post the pics and results on a separate thread.

How's it looking? Figured I would show you some 3D Flipper Caps you may like to add on.

I use a remote controled outlet to turn my Pin's on. So, it makes no difference where the actual on/off switch is located on each pin. I leave them always in the 'on' position. Painted the aliens to match the one on the side. You were lucky to have found a perfect cabinet, mine was bad, and I had to airbrush is after prepping it. To enhance the image I use a Ultimarc VideoAmplifier. Finally I have installed 2 blue LED light strings attached to each of the ramps, these can be turned on/off again with a remote, and dressed the ramps up with a cow, chicken en pig. All bulb are replaced with LED's matching the inserts
