so my RFM is having issues.

i can't get the Reed switch to work 100% of the time.

it seems to work in the switch check menu but thats if i roll the ball with my hands slowly over the switch

in real game time the switch seems to work 25% of the time.

i noticed that their are 3 total switches for this do all three need to be triggered for the ball lock to start?

someone please help

This is a common problem with rfm . I replaced all my roll over switches with new ones . My Outland switches were the same way , they would register about 33% of the time . Just replace them

but its the Reed switch not a roll over switch.

form what i understand its hard to find new Reed switches.

i did just have to adjust a bunch of roll over switches 6 to be exact but they are all working now.

Its just the magnetic Reed switches that don't seem to be working

Bump anyone have an idea how to fix this

Bump can anyone help me?

I want my game to work 100%

Are the switches tight against the bottom of the insert. If the little rubber guys holding them on have loosened they may not register all the time.

No their all tight against the board. Does anyone know what way their suppose to be installed?

I know they can be flipped around and mounted backwards im not sure what way their suppose to go. Anyone have a photo

Any help? Still not sure what order I the switches should face. I'll post a photo of what mine look like now I've switched the 3rd one upside down

I have some pictures when I sent my playfield out for CC. When I get home I will post them.

Steve at The Pinball Resource had a supply of NOS Williams reed switches. Give him a call and see if he still has them available or not. I was able to buy a new one for Cirqus Voltaire a year ago (or so).

Edit Issue not fixed!

Issue fixed.

So I turned the switches around so that they are the furthest from each other as Posible.

Now it seems to read it every time. Wanted to update everyone in case someone runs into the same problem.

ok scratch what i said i didn't fix it.

when i first got the game the ball locked worked no problem. but i have a bunch of roll over switches out. i fixed the switches and then all of a sudden the ball lock didn't work. i didn't think it was related.

now when i moved the reed switches around and started playing it worked 100% noticed after playing there was a credit dot. it was on the roll over switch right behind the reed switches i think its labeled the Center loop roll over switch.

so i just tested it with my finger and got it working not problem. as soon as i did that the ball lock stopped working again.

can anyone explain to me what to do now. is the game thinks that roll over switch is out then the ball lock works. if the roll over is working then the ball lock won't.

i have all my switchs turned the opposite way. but now i realize the position doesn't matter it has to do with my roll over switch right behind the reed switches

I got the center roll over switch non active again by unhooking the lead now the ball lock works perfect!

So it's something related to that switch.

Anyone have any ideas what I can do?

Is it a board issue?

sorry to bring back this post from the deads, but i have the exact same problem... this Switch 74 is lazy in play, but works fine when I press it with the finger or roll a ball by hand.

Did you managed to fix it at the end?

I consider, replacing it by a switch like this:

What do you think?

I have the same issue. Won’t register in game but with finger press or ball rolled over it does

Anyone figure this out?

I got strange issues when one diode on the drop target was in the wrong direction. Then one of the opto sensors in the ball through stopped working... It has to do with the matrix setup.

Have you fiddeled with any diodes that you might have turned the wrong way?
