Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:She pays 50.00 a month now for really good health insurance.
It can all be done.

Quoted from Elvishasleft:Well this is the point... its a rigged game much like the stock market and what goes up comes down.
I can predict the stock market and real estate with 100% accuracy...
I predict it will fluctuate.
If you're diversified and look at it over a long timeframe, values go up . But it's not a get rich quick scheme.
The real factor in acquiring wealth is "time" and how you use it. Start early.
Quoted from BMore-Pinball:Not true at all, not everybody that can retire early chooses to do so.
This discussion has mixed financial independence and retirement as the same.
Quoted from DBLM:Are there correlations between income and the type of career that you have wether or not you are and adherent of these methodologies? My supposition is that high earners in white collar careers are less likely to fit into these camps, but do not have any firm basis for this
Watch the mrmoneymustache video in post #327.
Same principles apply no matter one's income. He compared a $40k income with a $400k income.
It's more how you live, save and invest than how much you earn. A high earner could have nothing at retirement age if he doesn't plan.
Quoted from DBLM:I asked a different question. My question is what is the make up of FIRE/Mrmoneymustache adherents, not if it is applicable. arcyallen provided some insight into that.
Well, that's not exactly what you asked originally. You asked nothing of the make up.
But I see it's what you're asking now in order to clarify.
Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:USAA kicked me over to Schwab on May 22nd 2020. Since then, I am up almost exactly 95% in my IRAs. My 401k is also up about 80% in the same timeframe, but I've been pouring alot of money into that one.
Impossible.
Some orange doofus was claiming the stock market would crash if he couldn't keep his job for another 4 years.
